A warning to restaurants in the Southern California Area. Chef Mark Scher may be applying to restaurants for a culinary position, reason being that he assaulted a cast member by striking him in the kitchen area.

If you dig deeper into his personal file at Disneyland he has a past history of treating employees with very little respect, belittling them in front of other employees. Other rumored stories involve alcoholism and drinking while on the clock.

It is common belief of those who work at the Disneyland Resort that he was transferred from the Grand Californian Hotel to the Disneyland Hotel because he simply couldn't get a long with people because of his lack of leadership, communication skills, and common sense. A few years later he was transferred back to the Grand Californian Hotel because of the same reason.

If Chef Mark Scher (actually a Sous Chef, not a real Chef) applies to your restaurant or any business seeking employment, please contact the staff at the Disneyland Resort for a background check, although I believe it is company policy that they can only verify time worked and cannot reveal personal information or even give a character recommendation.

If you have already hired him and he works at your restaurant, I encourage you to do further research to find out why he left his last job.

You have been warned
