Chegg Charged Fraudulent Subscription to Victim "Customer"

Chegg charged us monthly fees although we never solicited their services. We reported them and Capital One took action and Chegg did it all over again. This time for two years! When you call them you get a recording that says you need to get a good number on their website. On the website there is no number and your only choice would be to register with them.

With a CapitalOne fraud supervisor we called on a number she found, and got a functionary who finally said she could not go further with a third party on the line. After being reassured by the Cap1 person I stayed on the line alone and the woman at Chegg admitted it was fraud. 

My wife found almost 500 complaints on Better Business or similar. This is a fraudulent company and I would not touch them with a ten foot pole.
