I used to frequent Mall Chrysler for repair of my Town and Country and had several problems with their service department. When Chrysler collapsed Mall Chrysler was closed and I ended up at Cherry Hill Dodge. Turns out these are owned by the same company and the very same people from Mall Chrysler moved over to Cherry Hill Chrysler.

Several years ago we bought a Town and Country van. It had issues with the air conditioner right away. It wouldn't cool properly. First we were told it was just coolant so we paid for that but it ran out at the end of the season.

The following year we were told the compressor went so we bought a new one.

The following year we were told the condenser went but was under warranty.

The following year we were told the compressor went (again?) so we bought a new one.

The following year we were told the condenser went.... Uh... see a pattern here?

I started wondering about this especially when, in the final visit they also mentioned my break shoes and rotors were bad. I had just replaced ALL the shoes myself and the rotors were fine.

Then my wife met a co-worker whose husband worked as a service tech there and he flat out told us that they're all monitored on how many repairs they find when they look at a car and if their numbers are low then they're fired.

Then, while getting a ride home during a repair, I was talking with the driver and mentioned this story when he said, "Yeah, I used to be a mechanic but I didn't want to rob customers so they told me I could do this or be fired." He verified everything I was told. The mechanics are on a hard quota system and are expected to make up repairs even if nothing is wrong to keep the money coming in.

Avoid these people like the plague. Only once in a dozen repairs has anything gone okay with these people. Bad news.

BTW, the last time we pointed out that they'd just repaired the condenser the counter person said, with a straight face, "Oh, did I say condenser? I meant compressor. Yeah, sorry, it's the compressor, not the condenser."
