I’m writing this review as I believe people need to know about the disreputable actions and behavior of such a large company. Now it’s very possible that you may not have the same experience as I did with these people,if you’re purchasing a 30,40 or $75,000 RV,as I was only purchasing an $8700 model.

But here’s what happened The salesman (Kurt) I put no blame on him at all.He is a young guy and even came in on a day off to help close the sale. But do you know every question I asked him that he couldn’t answer he had to run in the next office and ask his General Mgr. I’m 54 yrs.old and have purchased over 15 vehicles in my life and have never had a General mgr. or Closer not even come in the office and introduce himself.I found it incredibly unprofessional how do you get into a position of mgr.for a multi mliion dollar corp.and you don’t even have enough diplomacy or courtesy to introduce yourself and I was in that sales office 4 different times.I buy these 8 to 10 yr old RV’s and travel trailers for our sales people in our business and this time I was in a crunch so needed to close the deal, but if I’d had more time I’d have walked out of there and not given such a person my business and in hindsight after I voice the rest of the Fiasco I still should’ve.

So all that is slightly petty but here’s what people need to know about this dealership.I was sent by my salesperson Kurt to the service dept.as I told him I needed to see the A/C and water heater and Refrigerator functioning properly. So I’m standing there at the service counter asking for the service mgr. as the salesman has sent me down regarding the purchase of the travel trailer. And the woman at the desk cannot remember her name but the only woman in there as far as I could tell from the 4 times I was there she has long dark hair. She tells me he’s too busy.Who in the world says that to a customer we’re all busy i tell her.So she get’s him his name is Ron.So I tell Ron that I need to see that things are functioning before I buy it,he goes into this detailed sort of explanation about how I need to go back to the Sales dept and get particular paper work and he can”t tell me or do anything until he hear’s from the sales dept.

Now the salesman Kurt just sent me down there. Now what Ron was saying may be true but you don’t put all that on the customer that’s trying to give you money in exchange for a product, you just keep all the natter natter in house you don’t dump all this stuff about how they’re not doing it properly in the sales dept. on the customer. So I’m trying to keep service mgr. focused and I’m showing him the vehicle that we’re going to use to pull the travel trailer It’s a big beefy 06 GMC Penske box truck and I’ve done the research with GMC on how much it can pull and how much tongue weight and it meets requirements. But Ron tells me the ball is the wrong size so I say ok let”s handle it.He goes into this long drawn out lecture about how difficult it may be to cut the ball off and replace it.But I finally keep him focused and get a price out of him for that and an electric brake installed and he sends his guy out and with a welding torch and very professionally cuts off old ball in 10 min.Why the lecture and telling me I needed to sign a waiver of liability which i agreed to to do for such a simple little job I don’t know.

Now after I get all that straight I’m sitting there with Ken the one that does all the paperwork, bill of sale etc.And I end of having to pay $497 for them to ensure everything is functioning properly and I get a phone call from my boss as I’m sitting there waiting for Ken to print out all the docs. And this service guy by the name of Jim walks up as I’m on the phone handling my business and he’s fidgeting and fidgeting standing next next to me apparently wanting to go over the trailer with me and show me how things are functioning and he’s steadily fidgeting next to me as I’m on this call,so I finally tell him, when I’m done with these papers I’ll be down there. This was like some high school skit, very unprofessional. So It looks like everything is ok on the inside of the trailer,so I tell them I’ll be back to pick it up on Monday as i had to fly out of town for a few days.

When I get back on Monday to pick up the trailer I struggle to get someone to help me back truck to it and hook it up,finally I get Ron to assist me.I’m hooked up and puling off the RV lot and I hear Ron yell at me as I’m making a turn “hey it looks like your box truck is going to hit and dent the travel trailer when you turn” Now I’m at the point where I have to go as I have a deadline in upstate N.Y. to make.So I tell him I’ll be careful. It didn’t matter much how careful I was as I eventually Had to make a turn that sure enough put a small dent in trailer. So I found a welding fabricator and paid him $750 to cut front of trailer tongue off and extend it a foot. This handled it not damaging the trailer, but if still have to make a turn even a little sharp the tongue now bends into bumper of truck. Why all the sales and service people that saw the vehicle I was going to pull the trailer with for the past 4 days waited until I’m driving off the lot to tell me about the hazard I don’t know.I suppose it is possible they’d never seen a straight truck pull one of there trailers I don’t know.

So I recently called Chesaco and no one would take my call.So I left a message for sales manager to call me and explained how we cannot make the travel trailer work with our work truck which we cannot get rid of and that we were willing to sell it back to them at their price and cut our losses with it and to this day have received no correspondence from them.So I would suggest to anyone that wants to do business with ethical and willing to communicate and help solve customer problems kind of people then don’t do business with these people, because they’re typically only about extracting as much money as possible and not at all concerned about having happy and satisfied customers.

   This is all fact,Kevin A
