Chesed Animal Rescue Chesed Foundation Uses a team of lawyers to sue unsuspecting pet lovers Boca Raton, Florida
Chesed Rescue advertises pictures of beautiful puppies. First the get you hooked, then they present you with a very complicated contract with dozens of provisions.
overlooking even one of the provisions results in a immediate forfeiture of your pet and a $5000 fine!
The person I dealt with, Bobbi Goldman Miller was threatening, insulting to my family and the most unpleasant person I have ever had the misfortune to deal with once I had signed the contract.
They apparently adopt out these little puppies over and over again collecting money each time.
Avoid these people. They prey on you when you are most vulnerable.

I am shocked to see that someone had a negative expereince with Chesed Rescue and Bobbi Miller. My personal dealings with Bobbi and her company have been positive, professional and clear. I also have family members that have adopted several animals through Chesed and have had the same expereince. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a pet or looking to turn in an abandoned pet.
I adopted my dog through Chesed almost 2 years ago. Before I adopted, Bobbi made certain that I was able to care for a pet and provide a good home for him. I respect that Chesed is not in the adoption business for the money. Bobbi loves the animals she adopts and won't settle for a home or person that is questionable. Obviously, this anonymous person thought he was getting away with something when he tried to adopt a pet. What a shame he had to drag Chesed Rescue into his garbage.

My dealings with this organization have been very postive. This organization is dedicated to the welfare of animals. They are also commited to finding good homes with people who will ensure that their pet is in a good clean home. When they visited me I was uner no illusions. Had my home not been adequate I would not have been able to adopt my little boy. I am glad that this organization follows up with their committment to ensure that animals are placed in good homes. Anyone who was lead to beleive that this organization does less has been very misinformed. I would not hesitate to adopt from them. I refer my friends to them if they are looking to adopt.

I have adopted 2 dogs through Chesed Rescue. My sister adopted a dog through Chesed Rescue. My parents have adopted 3 dogs through Chesed Rescue. My family has dealt with Bobbi Miller and Chesed since 2003. This organization has nothing but the best interests of the animals at heart. They would rather hold onto a dog than place it in a home that is not going to be the most stable place for that animal regardless of how much money someone is willing to pay as an adoption fee. Bobbi has never been anything less than compassionate and tireless in her efforts to find the proper home for each animal. She treats all of the animals that Chesed accepts as if they were children!
The contract might ask for a lot of information, but it's all essential information that ensures that the animals are placed in homes that can care for them properly. The application is available on line and anyone can check and see that it's not terribly confusing. Unfortunately, sometimes people want a cute puppy but don't realize the time, energy and money that go into raising that dog.
This person is obviously upset that his application was denied, but I have no doubt that there was a very good reason that Bobbi refused to allow him to adopt an animal. His claim that you must forfeit your pet and the adoption fee if you violate a provision of the contract is absurd. As far as a fine goes??? There is absolutely NOTHING in the contract that discusses fines. The provisions are basically that you care for your new pet or if you feel that you can't any longer, you need to return the animal to Chesed rather than bring them to a kill shelter or sell them! I have never known Bobbi to demand the return of an animal. The only animals returned to Chesed are returned voluntarily!
If you're thinking of adopting an animal, please do not let this negative report sway you from adopting through Chesed. Call and talk to Bobbi and within five minutes, you will see what type of a person she is and that this report is the result of someone upset that he wasn't permitted to adopt a puppy.

I have been associated with Chesed Pet Rescue for over 5 years. I fostered dogs for them, and was involved in the adoption process. Chesed runs the rescue using high standards and their only concern is finding the right home for each animal they adopt out. They have specific criteria that must be met, including a home visit. They check to make sure the pet will be living in a safe environment and that the new owner will be able to take care of the animal (including vet care, medications, healthy foods, and a safe and stable place for the animal to live. Chesed is a top quality pet rescue organization run by someone with high moral standards, and their main concern is for the health and safety of every animal that they adopt out. They are an example of how a pet rescue group should be run. Very legitimate, honest and true to their mission of finding the best adoptive home for all the animals they rescue.

I am a veterinary nurse that has cared for the rescued pets that are available for adoption thru Chesed Rescue. I have had the pleasure of working with this group for over 10 years and this is what I know. The animals they rescue are unwanted throw always, some have been abused, and many are in need of extensive medical care. They do not avoid the pets that will cost them a great deal in medical bills as other groups tend to do but help those in need regardless. They do this armed with a wonderful group of foster homes that freely give their time and tremendous effort to rehab these unwanted pets and to place them in the appropriate home So they will never again be neglected. Their home visits are a crucial part in finding the right environment for these pets. If this adopter was denied, I would guarantee Bobbi and Chesed Resue did what was in the best interest of that pet. What Chesed does is not easy. Sometimes you have to say no. Someone has to be the voice of these innocent animals. I have the utmost respect for Bobbi Miller and everyone involved with Chesed Rescue and I recommend their group highly to anyone looking to adopt a forever friend.

I have been fostering dogs for Chesed Rescue for about 2 years. Bobbi is one of the most compassionate people I know. She treats all her animals if they where her children and is extremely careful to see that they only go to homes that are in good condition, clean, have room for the dog, etc which is why she does a home inspection. Bobbi puts a lot of time, love, and money to see that all her dogs are healthy and happy when adopted. If Bobbi says his home was not clean and the check he wrote for the adoption was not good this alone tells you that he should not be allowed to adopt any animals.
To say that Bobbi sells a dog multiple times is a complete lie as I know that the only time a dog has been returned has been when the existing dog in the home did not like the new dog and the adopters then got their money back. We need a lot more loving people like Bobbi and Chesed Rescue to save these dogs that are destined to be destroyed because there are so many dogs in the animal shelters.
The contract is not complicated as it basically states that if you can no longer care for the animal you will return it to Chesed Rescue and that there is a fine is you don't which is very reasonable.
If you are looking for a dog that has been examined and treated by a vet, spent some time in a loving foster home and given the best care possible that go to Chesed Rescue.

Bobbie Miller is a true hero. She devotes all her time and energy to finding loving, safe homes for homeless pets. She is thouough and thoughtful when placing the animals and priority one is the long term well being of the animals. I had the pleasure of adopting a wonderful dog from Chesed and was impressed with the careful evaluation they did prior to releasing the dog to me. Their investigation is consistent with other top rescue organizations I have adopted from. Sick animals are given excellent medical care prior to placement. Ihighly recommend Chesed to friends looking to adopt a pet. Chesed has an excellent reputation in the community.

I am a captain on a fire/rescue department in an inter-city area of South Florida. My fire station has, sadly, become a dumping ground for area residents to drop off their unwanted pets. Additionally, my fire company occasionally respronds to calls to rescue animals entangled in fences and trapped in abandoned buildings. Before a friend recommended that I contact Bobbi Miller at Chesed Rescue, we had no choice but to turn these poor animals over to County Animal Control where their chances of being adoptd and surviving in a kill shelter was very slim. Chesed rescue provides medical care and foster homes for these defenseless animals and will not allow them to be adopted until the prospective owner is vetted and their residence is inspected. God Bless Chesed Rescue, Bobbi Miller and all her dedicated volunteers. Bill G.

I have been involved in various degress with Chesed Rescue since the spring of 2007. Also, I am involved in animal rescues in New Jersey. Chesed Rescue is without a doubt, as is Bobbi Miller, the most caring and living rescues out there. They are a no kill agency, and, spend whatever they have to, in order to save a life, and, give an animal a good home, one that is safe, clean and clearly demonstrates that the adopted pet will have a good life and thrive. In the past, I have been involved in researching potential adoptive homes for Chesed's pets, and, the highest standards are withheld.
The only time the adoption of a pet is declines, is if there is obvious concern for the safety, health and stability of the pet.
My own personal standards include that a home is clean, safe and free of anything that could be hazzardous to a pet. For example, if dried food, of any type is found scattered around a home, if cigarette or cigar butts are left lying around, stagnant water, etc, I would never let a pet live in such filth. Another thing that I personally concerned about is the stability of the homeowner and the home they live in. If a person has anything in their background, such as any type of abuse, trouble of the law, drunk driving, this type of person concerns me. If a person is constantly transient, or lives in a situation where a home may be condemned or foreclosed, that is an area that concerns me.
For all of the years Chesed has been around, and, for all of the years that Bobbi Miller has freely given of herself, I personally do not believe for one second that there is one single thing either of them would not do that is not honest, ethical, caring and above board!

It is sad when someone feels passionate enough to write a de-famatory report and signs it anonymous. Sort of loses credibility. The author was someone that tried to adopt a pup with false information, and pay the adoption fee with a worthless check. The adoption check was deemed "insufficient funds," by the bank, public records showed their home was in deep foreclosure, as well as numerous litigations against the person for monetary damages. A reputable rescue does not send a puppy to a home unable to care for it. And you're darn right our contract has provisions to protect the pets we put in homes. And yes, we use a team of lawyers to enforce them. Because... You can never really know what's in someone's heart. Why else would we have so many abandoned and abused pets. And if we don't care about them, if we are in it for the money, why do we all "volunteer" our time?
Thank you "anonymous" adopter for showing us a paper application is worth nothing more than the paper. I guess anonymous didn't realize we actually follow up on references and check the safety of the home before sending a defenseless life there.
