On September 2nd, 2012, we attempted to start our 2009 Chevy Cobalt LT.  The key would not budge.  Our son uses the car to deliver sandwiches so we needed it repaired immediately.  Chevy dealership has no service available so we brought it to Fletchers Automotive in Surprise, AZ.  We were told dust or dirt must have jammed the tumbler so it needed to be cleaned out.  Cost was $142.00.  Car worked fine until today September 12, 2012.  Our son was using the car to deliver sandwiches when he discovered that he couldn't turn off the car.  Key was in my sons hand outside the vehicle with the car still running.  We brought the car to Fletchers who immediately pulled a fuse to shut off the vehicle.  Fletchers called to say that the tumbler is now completely broken and needs to be replaced.  Cost is $302.00.  Dealership refused to cover the part because they haven't had enough complaints to consider this as part of a recall.  We have 70K miles on the car and the bumper to bumper warranty will only cover the key locks and tumblers for 36,000 miles.  This is the The 2009 Chevy Cobalt is a piece of junk and every dealership should be embarrassed to represent this product.

List of other items that have gone wrong with this car....oil pan was leaking and needed to be replaced, back passenger window wont roll up or down, front bumper is so loose that a good bump will cause it to fall off.  This car is certainly not a Honda or Toyota.  I guess you get what you pay for.
