Child protective services first showed up on me and my husbands doorstep on Dec.8th 2011 we let the two women in Tina Harris and Jamie beesley at the time it was dark in our apt because our power had been shut off I simply explained that my grandmother was in the works of getting it back on. Tina Harris claimed someone had called because of the power being shut off and my husband informed Tina that we were working on it. She went on asking questions about tyler what was he eating and all the normal questions.

She asked to see my son I brought him out and Tina and Jamie said he looked very healthy. We were then seperated to be talked to my husband went with Jamie outside I stayed in with Tina she asked Mons of personal questions. Yes I had a bad past but what does that have to do with my son I asked she claimed I may. Taken it out on Tyler I said to Tina I would never lay a finger on my son after awhile my husband and Jamie came back in and Jamie gave us a swab drug test both of ours came back with super faint lines of methamphetamines which me and my husband do not do drugs of any kind we don't even drink.

She said she was concerned and asked if we would take a hair test we were picked up at 9:30am the next morning did our hair test Jamie said it would take a week for our test to come back.they came back on December 20th Tina said the results were in it was neither nor my husbands test. But my sons he came back positive for methamphetamines I was in shock I asked how she didn't have an accurate response see the neighborhood we live in is not the best we just learned that people before us in the past and while we were here had done the particular drug so we thought maybe he got it when on the floor.

She took him that day I broke down in tears any mother out there that has had this happen to you knows this feeling it is pain like no other so I sat down and read Tina's report I was astonished she had twisted and falsified so many things it was terrible. I am going to to see legal aid soon just wish I had someone who has been through this somewhat similar case as ours. Just want my baby back. He's only 8 months old.

Okay CPS(like everyone on this site) is seeing this from the "outside", and here is what we see.

A house without Electricity during the Winter

A baby who tests positive for Meth.

Now, regardless of how good or bad of parents you are, the fact is the "environment" is NOT safe for the child.  If you really think that environment is safe then perhaps some question does need to be made about your parenting skills.

If you are being 100% truthful and you are moving to a better situation hopefully the courts will see this and give you your child back.

I hope it all works out for the best. Your lawyer ought to go after the landlord too if he's refusing to address the meth issue, especially if it  ends up being tied to losing your kid.Are the church people standing by you in this?

Our power was only off for three days and we never stayed here during the day I always wrapped him up he was warm as toast plus he had the warmest room in the house. And legal aid gave us advice to leave the apt also our property manager has told the landlord to have the building tested but he doesn't want to fork the money out over the years there has been Meth users cookers and dealers so we are told. And before someone says we should had picked a better environment we had no choice several church organizations helped get this apt for us. So in a few days we are leaving to start a better life get stable jobs to get into a stable home and work on getting our son back but cps is very corrupt in alot of ways. Yes dome children should be removed but some don't they take them with out facts to back there statements up. Thanks for the advice we appreciate it greatly may God bless you.

I'm not going to debate whether y'all are full-of-it druggie liars, or innocent victims. Of all of us here, only y'all know the truth.

If y'all are on the level, you need to google "meth traces found in homes after", "meth house contaminated buyers", "bought meth house" and other similar searches. A lot of folks are finding they've bought and/or moved into homes contaminated by meth from previous residents who used it.

If y'all moved into that home recently, or had anyone there at any time who possibly did meth, you and your child could be testing positive for trace amounts because the home is contaminated. Any half-wit lawyer ought to be able to determine the reasonable likelihood of that being the case.

Get on whatever lawyer is assigned you and demand that every possibility of your home being contaminated is investigated and taken into consideration.

That said, y'all obviously have other issues, and if you're living without power with winter upon us, your baby is safer elsewhere.

To all parents who have nothing to hide but everything to protect here are some tips in dealing with this agency.

1. Never let them in your house and don't answer the door. If you know they want to speak to you and see your children set up an apt. with an attorney present. Pay an attorney to come to your house then address the accusations.

2. Cooperate with them no matter what they request with your lawyers ok of course

In your case, don't wait for legal aid since they have your child they must have a court date scheduled and you should never proceed without an attorney. If you hadn't gotten one by the time of the hearing let the judge know you respectfully request council and do not wish to proceed with out one. The case may be continued which means your seperated from your son a bit longer but it's truely for the best. If you do anything wrong at this point in the game you lose your son forever. Now you must prove unfortunatly these alligations arn't true. Is your son worth that? Good luck may God be with you

You had your 8 month old child in a home with no electricity?? Regardless of the mild temperatures this December here in Texas you put your child at risk.  Now you are stating the child tested positive for meth!! That meth could have been in his system since being in the womb. I am sick and tired of people bashing CPS for doing their jobs.  I suggest YOU walk in these people's shoes for ONE day and see how long you last.  I would never work for CPS (long hours, huge case loads, low pay).

Grow up and take responsibility for your actions!
