Hi, my name is Elaine i would like some help i have been having a hard time dealing with the department of revenue and the local child support agency. they have been grossly mis handling my case for sometime now ,when i call i can not get any straight answers from them its like one hand does not know what the other hand is doing ,its sad because i have to let them handle my case because i can not afford a lawyer at this time.
I understand its my ex husbands obligation but they also need to be accountable, there has been so many hearings and still nothing is really being done. also my case is supposed to be an interstate case but i am finding out that it is not and no one is correcting that at this time.
lewis sanchez owes me well over fifty two thousand dollars,the last hearing he was ordered to pay a purge amount of four thousand dollars that was june 6 2007 and now it is aug 14 2007 and i have still not received any monies and when i call they can not give me a straight answer.there is a hearing set again for my ex husbands drivers license and i will attend, that is on aug 16 2007
here is were it gets interesting i received a letter about this and i was told it was a contempt hearing but when i called they said it was not on the calender but i will still show up with my letter. I feel the state agencies need to be accountable for all the mistakes on my case. I feel that the system is failing and it is a disgrace. I have also contacted the governors office and still have not gotten any satisfaction.
I have all my court papers i will even give you my case number please contact me please help, UPDATE since i wrote this i still have not received any monies and they are making another hearing for sept 20 ,tell me how long do me and my children have to suffer for there mistakes,and how long can lewis sanchez manipulate the court system

Child support is calculated by combining both parents income and seeing how much of that total it takes to raise the child.....NOT by automatically taking 55%. If the father makes more than the mother than, yes, he should pay more. I agree with the fact there is to many "welfare for lifers" and both parents should have to be employed (should be a condition of the courts!). On the flip side of that though if more fathers paid their support there would be less mothers on welfare because they would not qualify with the support being paid.
The child support on a "day care age" child is going to be more.......the day care is a horrible expensive cost. Some day cares are 190.00 a wk ( and this was 7 years ago pricing when my kids where in day care) for 2 kids! So hence the higher bills for the child the child support is going to be higher.
The driver license being taken away is a form of punishment for not supporting your kids. *If a man can lay down in bed and make children he needs to be d**n well ready to support them!* There is NO excuse to not support your children and the state looks at the lack of support from the father (or mother) has him (or her)screwing over his kids. So in turn the state yanks his license to screw over him. Their reasoning is if he can not support his kids then he will not drive and enjoy the convenience of a drivers license so he can do everything but what he should be. If he is working and not paying why should he reap ANY benefits while his kids suffer? Pay your support and you can have a license, if not....oh well, you can be broke to and see how it feels to go without! Your kids do when you do not pay so why should you not feel the same thing??! There is no excuse for being "unable" to pay. I don't care if a man (or a woman)has to work 5 jobs a week he needs to support his kids and if he does not, hell......they need to lock him (or her)up and throw away the key!!

I don't agree with the "child support" system as we know it.
Each parent [man + woman] need to be EQUALLY responsible for the cost of raising a child. That means no more "welfare moms". Get a JOB!
Many states, like Florida, put the entire burden of support on the man, regardless of if the man has enough money left to eat or live somewhere or have transportation to work.
Here in Florida, they can take a combined maximum of 65% of a man's paycheck for child support! Even the bas 55% is ridiculous.
Face it, wages are low and getting lower. Some of these people at the 65% rate are only making $300-$400 per week GROSS!
So here is some guy that makes $10 an hour with no overtime, and no benefits, etc. A gross of $400/wk. The way I understand it, they tax the $400 and then take the 55% of that net.
Lets say $320 is left out of that $400. 55% of $320 is a $176/wk child support payment for 1 child with no arrears, leaving the man $144/wk to live on!!
How does anyone LIVE on $144.00 a week? Rent, food, clothing,INSURANCE, GAS, Vehicle, etc? It CANNOT be done.
Now, here is the best part! This poor guy finds himself UNABLE [not unwilling] to pay, and the State of florida takes away his driver's license, and usually his ability to work! Now, he loses his license, and subsequently his job, and is UNEMPLOYED, and now goes to jail.
Where is the logic there? I cannot see it.
I have a friend of mine in that situation. Although he did make the mistake of having kids with 3 different women, he still needs to be able to live.
Lets get realistic! And what does a drivers license have to do with child support? I never saw that connection.
There is a BIG difference between a man that is able, but unwilling to pay, and a man that is simply unable to pay. This distinction needs to be made before any enforcement commences.

That state agency is FLSDU. They are listed here as a corrupt organization.
To say they are only inefficent would be the height of diplomacy.
Do not trust them. Contact the senator from your distrct. They have been messing with my payments unlawfully for months now, and making it appear as though I am not making payments when I have been making payments for every month for years.
Type FLSDU in the search box. I believe if a lot more of their victims knew of this web site, there would be far more cmplaints against them registered here.
