This Chilis restaurant still allows smoking.  I know that it's hard to believe in 2011 they would still allow that.  The lady at the bar said it was because this particular city had not banned smoking.  I call b.s. on that as a restaurant can set their own rules, just as no shirt, no shoes, no service.  It is my guess the manager/owner is a smoker.

I guess they are willing to run off the 88% of us that find this offensive. When an asthmatic has an attack, they might just own this place.  It amazes me Chilis corporate allows this.

Sadly, it was a nice Chilis.  I left early because of the smoke, you have to wonder what this is doing to their bottom line.

If you like fresh air don't go there.

How perceptive, but you overestimated a bit.

Charles can only aspire to someday buy a double wide.  Right now he's lucky to be able to finance a cheese sandwich.

There was not a sign that said smoking allowed

If there was a sign displayed on the front door that said SMOKING ALLOWED HERE, I would have left.  Same deal as the no smoking signs.  I had been in the restaurant for about 15 minutes when the first smoker lit up.  Now how the h**l would I have known this was a smoking establishment prior to that?  99% of all public places are non-smoking. I realize this is deep South Texas and it's a bit "behind the times."

Best of luck to those of you that think smokers should be able to pollute others air.  Not selfish, just good manners.

pro-life.

Busybodys like you that want the world to conform to THEIR beliefs are a definite pain in the butt.

BTW, I wouldn't patronize them either, there are MANY places that ban smoking.  I use oxygen and my wife has asthma.....but, this business apparently has the legal right to allow their patrons to smoke.....get over it and take your business elsewhere.

Were you dragged or forced to go into this place of business? Everyone I know has a free will and are capable of making educated decisions based on common sense, I guess you can't. Putting the blame on the business shows you can't make responsible decisions, your complaint is bogus.

If smoke offends you stay out of the business that permits smoking, self centered people that feel the world should revolve around their standards need to think again.

I do not smoke, I can choose to do business with a smoke  free businesses, I can go into a business that permits smoking, thats my choice, I have a free will and can make decisions, the choice is mine.

If there is no ordinance in the city then restaurants can allow smoking. Once Dallas banned smoking in bars and restaurants businesses saw a decrease in patrons.  Don't like it then don't patronize the establishment.  Not a rip off.
