Complaint Review: Choice Home Warranty (CHM)

Be Warned - Choice Home Warrany, Their Employees & Operation is a SCAM based program!

After being contacted by choice home warranty to provide services to their customers My small Electrical Contracting company did just that.. We serviced their customers.

The way it worked for us, is they sent us several work orders the first week then even more the next couple weeks.  EVERY customer was serviced very timley and all was well for their client.

I had my first red flagged raised and ignored (by me) when a work order came through one afternoon and I was in my office... decided to run strait to customers home and did... Upon arriving I found problem and called in for approval as required.  When I could not get through to approval department at 3PM my time I did not think anything of it..

I knew the item was covered and since all work through these outfits are DISCOUNTED considerably (because they tell you how much they will pay) I literly could not afford to leave the customers home to revisit another day so I performed the work figuring "hey they keep sending us out they must trust us at this point"   WRONG

After more and more time went on approx. 2 Monthes without payment I began to get concerned.  We had around $2k out in material plus our labor and had not received a dime...  Everytime we called we got a STANLEY GOODSPEED who would be SO RUDE (I mean VERY VERY RUDE) and would assure us the check was being processed then it was sent and should arrive then oh we will need to resend the check then it was "you need to resend all invoices" 

Then after threatening legal action we did receiv the 1 and only check to date for a wopping $150.00 yeah thats right $150 when we had spent clode to $2k in materials alone. 

Then it started getting nasty as they refused to pay for the invoices where we could not through for approval (during businness hours)

Then fast forward several monthes and we were sending out our delinquent files for legal action and I logged on internet to get their contact infor (for filing) and I saw this site and all the complaints.

PROOF at last that these no good, evil people in fact practice these tactics to small companies all accross the country.  SAD Criminal Pathetic all at the same time.

So I noticed a response from a Troy Mc dermott or something to that effect claiming Stanley was gone and HE WAS there to save the day. Offering to make things right with everyone who was robbed during the previous regiem. 

I called spoke with him and it sounded great,.. yeah "tanley was a crook" he proclaimed and they brought me in to clean up his messes and there is a lot of em"  Resend all your invoices to me directly and I will get you paid!

WOW!! Great We will get paid after all this..... NO Not so fast.

Time goes on and nothing, then we call "oh I did not get anything" funny since fax machines conform receipt.. Okay I will resend I told him and we did.  Then Nothing...

I call one last time to attempt to not drag them to California Court and he then turned into Stanley and got very VERY VERY RUDE, Nasty infact.  I was told he would not pay for the services rendered without approval (even know the customers were taken care of and all work performed was virtually the same, nothing different thanwhat was gettinng approved if they actually answered) So it is not like we were performing work that would not be approved but simply I fell into their deceptive trap!

I want EVERYone to know that Choice Home Warranty is a shotty excuse for a Home Warranty Provider>  I will spend more money than they owe to ensure something is done..  I have begun to place liens on the unsuspecting and unfortunate home owners and I am filing a law suite through the superior courts of California as they engage in work here. 

It really was hard fighting through the none payment.  Labor loss is one thing but when we are spendinng $350-$450 in material per customers plus our labor and overhead it is a bit much.
