After using up all my automobile Insurance/PIP med pay $10,000 plus they just told me I was done when I was still having severe symptoms from the car accident I was in and just like that told me today would be my last day. When I started talking to the other patients that where also being treated in the clinic they all told me the same thing. The routine is the same, they get you coming every day for the first week or two, you see their medical doctors that rotate through their offices as well as a chiropractors. When you see the MD's they try to push injections and other diagnostic testing. They refer you to their own MRI facility (from what I understand is Illegal). Give you lumbar support belts but don't tell you they charge $2482 (for a belt/can you believe this) to the Insurance company's. I'm not saying all the doctors where terrible but most were there to maximize the billing end of the business and use up the money and than just tossed me aside.
From what I understand doing some research STATEFARM just sued them for a couple of millions dollars in regards to not paying them cause they stated the billing was all fraud.
(April 18, 2017, 3:30 PM EDT) -- WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A federal judge in Florida on March 30 refused to dismiss a lawsuit brought by State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. against doctors and clinics accused of engaging in a scheme to submit bills under insureds’ no-fault benefits for medically unnecessary treatments, ruling that it was premature to find that the insurer committed fraud on the court by omitting certain pages from documents it submitted as exhibits to its complaint (State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company v. Gary Brown, et al., No. 16-80793, S.D. Fla., 2017 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 57019).
(Order available. Document #20-170428-026R).
In its lawsuit, State Farm contends that Gary Brown, Naveed Shafi, M.D., Steven Svabek, Injury Treatment Center of Fort Myers Inc., Injury Treatment Center of West Palm Beach Inc., Injury Treatment Center of South Florida Inc. Injury Treatment Center of Coral Springs Inc., Injury Treatment Center of Boynton Beach Inc., Injury Treatment Center of Naples LLC, Injury Treatment Center of North Miami Beach LLC formerly known as Injury Treatment Center of Ft. Pierce LLC, Chiro-Medical Associates of Hollywood Inc., Neuro Massage Therapists Inc., Choice Physicians Billing Inc., Preferred Physicians Management Services Inc. and Southeast MRI LLC, formerly known as Mobile Diagnostic Imaging LLC engaged in an eight-year scheme to defraud the insurer by submitting fraudulent claims for no-fault benefits for services that were purportedly provided to State Farm insureds.

Rebuttal to "David" of Delray Beach

Wed, October 31, 2018
This is in response to a report submitted by "David" of Delray Beach, Florida on January 11, 2018. After a thorough search of patient files we could find no patient named "David" treating in our Boca Raton clinic around the time period reported.
That being said, Choice Medical Centers provides care to persons injured in motor vehicle accidents, as well as other types of injuries. Our doctors do not dismiss patients and tell them they are "done" when insurance benefits are exhausted. In fact our doctors do not even have access to insurance information. We do not treat patient's insurance, we treat patients. Our doctors will continue to treat until they have explored all possible avenues for patient relief. Unfortunately there are times that no matter what the treatment, a patient does not always get better.
If a patient is experiencing severe symptoms a wide variety of medical and therapeutic options are available. We do not just kick patients out of the clinic. Those options can include medication, injections or possible surgery if necessary. Our doctors don't "push" injections and other diagnostic testing. They offer treatment options that they feel may be beneficial to the patient's care. Diagnostic testing is done to help determine what the underlying problem may be and help guide appropriate care.
As far as the MRI facility, each patient is given a Notice of Financial Interest form that informs them that the company may have an ownership interest in the diagnostic facility. Patients sign that form acknowledging that they have read and understand it. Further, patients can choose to go to whatever facility they would like to use, and many do.
For automobile accident patients, most insurance company policies limit the amounts that clinics like ours can collect for the services we provide. There is also typically a limit of $10,000 in PIP (Personal Injury Protection) benefits available to these patients. The $10,000 PIP benefit is an amount set in the 1970s. Unfortunately at today's healthcare costs that does not always cover a patient's needs. Our fees have been determined to be reasonable for the standards in the communities we serve and by courts of law.
There was a lawsuit brought by State Farm, however that lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice in Federal Court. Something "David" failed to mention.
