Chris Jackson Contracting Chris Jackson without permission/authorization based on phone estimate powerwashed my home. Trespassed on neighbors property accessing water for powerwashing. Pittsburgh Pennsylvania
Chris Jackson Contracting worked on home without permission or authorization based on a phone estimate. Trespassed on neighbors property accessing water for powerwashing unapproved and without permission. I called Chris Jackson Contracting because he was Angie's List #1 handyman. Turned out many of his feedback recommendations were duplicates, created by him using his own e-mails to give himself positive feedback.
He did not even know what color to paint the house he was powerwashing. I originally asked him to give me an estimate on installing a door and on the phone, I asked that while he was there to give me an estimate on painting the front of my home, as I was thinking of having it done next year.
On May 30th he showed up at my home, while I was not there, asking each of my neighbors if he could use the water to powerwash my home. Neighbors became suspicious and refused. They told him that if I was to have work done, I would have prepared to give him access to water. One neighbor was on vacation and the garden hose was hooked up so he modified their tap and used it. When we got home we heard the answering machine saying he started the job. We called him saying what the heck did you do? I said what color were you planning on painting it? He did not have an answer. He said ok, I made a mistake, I thought I had the job. But you will have to pay me for the powerwashing. I said, I have not met you in person to discuss the job. There is no written agreement or written estimate for the job, only your messages on my answering machine.
Based on an estimate, you started a job without my permission. There were no specifics as to what you were to perform. As a result you ruined the brick on a home from the 1850s. You don't powerwash brick that old with 2500psi powerwashing. The morter was removed from the powerwashing and minor spalded brick is now unsightly to look at. He refused to acknowledge the damage, saying weather could have caused the morter to wash out. When I contacted him he said his wife was sick and he has 7 children to feed.
On top of this, my neighbors and I had to report Mr. Chris Jackson to the police for trespassing and also making threats that if I dont pay him, something bad is going to happen to me.
