I am a first-time horse buyer who bought a horse for my daughter. The horse was advertised on dreamhorse.com as being 8 years old, born in January 2004. Ms. Walsh refused to deliver the Coggins report until after she cashed my check for $2,500. The Coggins report showed that he was born in January 2000. Ms. Walsh only owned the horse for one month, and claimed that the prior seller told her he was 7 years old.

The prior seller's name was on the Coggins report, so I contacted her. She told me that Ms. Walsh absolutely knew she was getting a 12 year old horse, and encouraged me to look up her ad on Dreamhorse.com. The prior seller's ad was still there, marked sold, and listed him honestly as 12 years old, "free horse".

Ms. Walsh acquired a free 12-year-old horse, then one month later advertised him as an 8-year-old horse for $2,500. She lied and withheld information to make a quick profit. I took her to small claims court, but unfortunately lost because they would not consider compensation for fraud.

Please be very careful when dealing with this seller. Make sure that you have a Coggins report and thoroughbred papers upon delivery.
