Christian Heating and Air Conditioning Service Tech allowed coolant to leak out, then tried to sell new system Southampton PA
Expensive story with Christian AC Company.
4/29 had Christian AC do pre-season checkup on house system. Tech showed me rusty frame on cooling coils, where leaks can occur, noted system is 14 years old & thus at its end of life. Tests showed it worked fine.
6/2 outside peaks at 93 deg. Turned AC on, 1st time since Christian AC rep was here. Outside compressor unit won’t work. Just getting warm air. Called Christian AC. A rep came & said no coolant was in system, recommended replacing whole system due to age & rusty coils that are probably source of lea & $5K to replace; charged $99 fee to come out. Christian AC salesman came few days later & tried the “special discounts good only today” trick. Told him we’re shopping & “give us your best price you’ll support”.
Called in Scott AC. OWNER came 6/6 & found the coolant filling/testing valves outside just hand-tightened. Hearing our story, he suspected the Christian rep didn’t properly close those valves. He said the cooling coil frame gets rusty 6 months into use, & our 14 year old system should last 15-20 years. He recommended a pressure test.
Friday 6/9 Scott AC rep pressurized system with nitrogen + some coolant so a leak detector could sniff where any leak occurred.
Monday 6/12 Scott AC rep found ZERO PRESSURE LOSS!!! System holding over 300 psi.
Thursday 6/15 Scott AC rep found pressure STILL HOLDING. He vacuumed out system & filled system with coolant. Time & materials cost $1,235.
Christian REFUSES to refund charges for their INCOMPETENT rep (I think I’m being kind),not to mention my costs to test & recharge the system.
Bottom line: USE CHRISTIAN AC AT YOUR IWN RISK!!!!
