Christie Harmon - Double D Ranch - Christies Puppies -Harmon Kennels Sent Me a puppy that had mange Lebanon Missouri
We purchased a newfoundland puppy for 1600 dollars, he had a bad case of mange.For Those of you that dont know what that is it is a parasitic infestation in the skin.He was bleeding from his legs and he was crying all day.We immediately took him to the vet and he said this puppy has had mange. He also said this is something he had for a wile and not something new.At this point we only had him for two days.The vet gave him a shot and told us we had to come back 3 more times for him to fully cure our puppy.Along with the shots we were instructed to bath him regularly in a special shampoo for at least one month.Our new puppy was miserable itchy and bleeding for the first month we had him(poor dog).
The dog being sick was one problem the other problem was that the "Breeder" had now become unreachable.Several Emails were sent but no response.Whats weird is that the whole time we were in contact about purchasing the dog she was very easy to get in touch with.
Our vet instructed us to get checked for mange ourselves because humans can get it.So on top of the 300 dollar vet bill we now had to pay our doctor to check us out.So between doctors and medicine we had now spent over 400 dollars on this mange problem.
If when we contacted her she had said sorry and maybe had some explaination we would have felt alot better.My dog is ok now and we love him but I would not suggest buying anything from her she still has not got back to us even after we had our vet send her a letter explaining the problem and the cost.

If you do not like the unregulated akc inspection my a*s they look at paper work and never never look at kennel. Awhile back I was not liked for I was and am an animal lover. I called out a breeder in Nebraska to show her kennel. Well, she did BIG BREEDER WITH WIRE FLOORS. Bragging about how many dollars she has made on the backs of female shih-tzu disgust any civil human. I have 4 adult shih-tzu. I cannot even imagine a scope of 20 adults and giving each animal all the love they deserve.
Yes I can provide medical,food,water as alot of breeders do to 20 or more animals but can I provide the emotional support and love each individual little personality needs answer is NO NO NO NO ONE CAN but what about emotional stability. You think Dogs do not have feelings. Hey sherry This breeder ,talk about inhumane ,as a matter of fact I would love to tell you that breeders with cute web sites what they do. One breeder takes her used up shih-tzu to local animal rescue. Others shoot them or air gun them in head. So breeders would tell me 3 yrs. ago to the found out I am not one of them. I refuse to make a buck off of my pets. Would you make money off of your grandchildren ? I am appaulled at how many shih-tzu breeders are listed on internet. Really sad. If you want to help adopt from local rescue. Do not repeat ..DO NOT breed. It costs alot of money if you do it right. It costs around 500.00 to have one litter . But I take mine to hospital to whelp. still it is quit expensive Please visit web sites about puppy mills and please realiize BREEDING does not equal money.
IT is cruel and unusual for humans to cage a domestic animal for breeding reasons. I see on puppyfind they dont even move puppies to a prop but leave them in kennel whole in the wall and take pictures. and how cute necklaces around puppies necks and blah blah blah we love our babies Breeders love your parents of the babies then you will prove something. vet certification ask how long has vet been in business, what college did he/she go too, vets are people that can also for whatever reasons not be on up and up. REMEMBER PEOPLE can go to school and get degrees or better yet now a days can download a college degree from internet. Please call this office to report your puppies experience, Christi Harmons kennels are harboring contagious and infectious diseases. Mange in human form is Scabies and is a reportable comminucable disease. It should not be transported across the country.

Somehow time and time again these puppies are getting past her veterinarian and are recieving health certificates that enable them to travel on flights and risk the health of every other animal there. Never mind what happens and who else is exposed to these diseases once they get to thier "forever families"

Hello Pat and Laura...this is Debbie from Pittsburgh. Christie Harmon will respond to this report and will call you liars and will even say that you are me. She will once again lie about selling only healthy puppies and give her vet's name and number so you can contact him. You have now joined the ranks of those who have been ripped off by Christie Harmon. She will not answer your emails, she will not tell the truth to any one and she will make up more and more lies. You will not get one cent to cover your expenses.
You received a sick puppy and it is heart breaking not to mention emotionally draining and financially devastating. Mange is very contagious to other animals and to humans as well. It is also a very painful and agonizing condition for your dog. My puppy arrived with kennel cough and canine caronavirus which is very similar to parvo. My puppy is still being treated for the intestinal disease he arrived with and will be treated monthly for the rest of his life. Since I never received my Full AKC papers and pedigree, my puppy has been neutered and is being trained as a therapy dog. He has also been neutered because, unlike Christie Harmon, I do not breed dogs and I would not want my puppy to father puppies who would have heath issues.
My suggestion to you is to contact the web site you purchased your dog through, the Attorney General's Office of Missouri, the Missouri Agriculture Department, the BBC, the ASPCA, the humane society and the Laclede Health Department at 417-532-2134. You can call her vet but it will be a waste of your time. His secretary/office person will not tell you the truth either.
