Complaint Review: Christie Martin - The Icehouse Of Bentonville

In the bentonville and North west arkansas area the Icehouse has the best potential to be everything this area needs to launch a musical revolution for the territory.

The business practices I have seen in place at the icehouse have been nothing less that professional and to the point. They have high drink prices yes, but for a good reason, they keep higher class people there and by doing so they keep a lot of the drugs and drama out of it's "house".

The potential of this business and it's location give it a good chance to be a forerunner of the new music movement in the NWA area.

Christy and Derek are both very nice indiviuals who have taken the time to meet everyone that I have brought around and have never tried to scam anyone that I have known of that have dealt with them in the progress of building the icehouse. If you are to say otherwise then specify your scam sources and let us know who and why they have been concidered scammers. Everything I have read that you have posted has no foundation or proving points, just a bunch of hearsay.

I'm really surprised at the negative comments I read about the Icehouse. I worked for Miss Christy and Derek during the renovation and I NEVER had a problem getting paid for my time and materials. I know that there were one or two people that got fired for doing a crappy job, not showing up on time, not completing the agreed job, and generally being sloppy and dishonest. But there's always a few malcontents on any major job.

I've been a loyal customer ever since they opened and had a good time every time I'm there.
I even tried their new lunch menu this week and it's great. Miss Christy always has a smile on
her face and Derek has always been very polite and friendly with customers and the staff. Sounds to me like someone's trying to do a smear campaign and it's just not right. They worked hard for a couple of years to put together this place and I'm proud to have been a part of it.

You have to ask yourself, if this place is so bad, how come they're always packed on the weekends? How come even ex-employees still come here to eat and drink? Even servers that have been fired for not showing up for their shifts still come here all the time.

As far as personal comments on Derek and Christy,
was does their personal relationship have to do with it? They're both still here working away, getting along, and trying to bring some excitement (and tax dollars) to Bentonville. I say more power to 'em!

I plan on always being a loyal customer, I'm proud to have a restaraunt/club of this caliber in Bentonville, and I'm not going to let some ignorant person with their own hidden agenda keep me spending my time and money at the Icehouse of Bentonville!

To whom ever wrote that rebuttal, needs to go back to grade school and learn how to spell. It's obvious you don't have a clue what really has gone on at the Icehouse, but how could you if you have only worked there since April. You obviously don't know how crooked Christy Martin and Derek Rowell are? Do you think paying people under the table and not paying taxes is fair to the ones that are honest, and do pay taxes? Do you know what they have done to people that worked for them? like not paying them for their work, Derek threatening to hit people? Did you know that Derek is not even a partner in the business, and has no ownership at all in the business. he was just Christy's boyfriend, who was just used to get the work done for Christy before she split up with him. Do you not read the police reports about all the drunks and fights, it was even on the news. I don't think for a minute that the Icehouse is going to draw the class of people that Christy wishes would support her place, just the hard core drinkers and party crowd. High Class people I don't think so. It would make a person wonder why cops are working undercover in a place like that if there was not something illegal going on in there. With hippy's running that place it won't take long for the public to see where they get there reputation.

I am an employee at the Icehouse Of Bentonville. My job is wonderful, the management, owners, and employees are all wonderful to work for and with as well. But, as I was googling the Icehouse, I was shocked at some of the things I found. Let me just give you a brief rundown:

First of all, if you are going to write harsh things about somebody, get it right.. In this case, whomever wrote this article is a complete idiot, and I would be surprised if you have any hint of intelligence if your life. Rule #1: When you are WRITING garbage about somebody, people might take you more serious if you can actually spell that persons name correctly. "Christie" is actually "CHRISTY", and the fact that whomever wrote this article doesn't know that, shows that you are a complete moron, who is probably just a very unhappy and hateful person. And you really have no business writing about Christy. Like I said, if you write garbage, try and spell it correctly, or people don't take you serious. F'n idiot!

Second, Derek is a very polite and professional guy when it comes to the Icehouse. These two have put their lives into this place, and it is finally paying off; despite what you critics say. As far as him never recieving a paycheck.. that's just absurd. Derek knows how much has gone into this, more than anyone but Christy. He also realized that as far as getting the place up and open for business was going to be difficult, therefore he gladly volunteered much of his time to help, without getting paid. And Derek never physically abused anyone, or ran them off to avoid paying them. NEVER!

Third, just to set the record straight, the Icehouse of Bentonville is not a "corrupt company". It is a new business, and as always, new businesses are not perfect, and take more time, and effort to get working properly. But the real issue here, is not Christy and Derek. The real issue here is that the critics out there, are just close minded Bible Beaters. About half of the people around here couldn't be more excited about the Icehouse opening. The other half are so d**n stubborn with their beliefs that they dont want it here, period!

For all those critics out there, sorry for your pathetic miserable lives. But for all the people who pack the Icehouse on a Daily basis, thank you for your support. I know there are kinks at the Icehouse that still need worked out, but it's a new resteraunt, and nothing new is ever perfect. It already is the hottest night spot in NWA, and thank you for those of you who support the Icehouse. See you soon!!
