Complaint Review: Christine Carman

 Mud fever is extremely common among horses. Memento farms has dealt with it among some boarders and horses of their own. Some horse are more likely to develop infections than others and it can be due to a suppressed immune system if the horse is on medications to treat other health issues. Horses have not lost weight here and the one in particular that did was seen by a vet and it was determined that due to such severe heaves the horse was more likely to lose weight. After the vet recommended a special diet the weight returned. Mud fever was due to a suppressed immune system and the vet prescribed a two week regiment of Tribrissen which cleared it up. After X-rays it was stated any lameness issues were likely the cause of poor trimming and no sign of Navicular was present. All decisions were made under direction of a qualified veterinarian. Was anyone else present to confirm otherwise? I have the vet records and the bill that went along with having the horse seen on multiple occasions to treat and comfort the horse in question. All you have is one thin horse? Of which was addressed with the help of vet recommendation. Now on to the pony. Said pony does not reside here further. With the help of lady he came from he was found a home.

What I see clearly here is multiple people twisting stories into what they are not. Attempting to make allegations based on complete bullshit. There is no fact here. Fact is all horses were seen by a qualified vet and a well known one. Nobody here can state they were present and a poor decision was made. All decisions made were under vet recommendation/rcmp/doa as well and all animals best interests were put first. Which is not what I can say for those who allowed animals into the condition they arrived in and just tossed them away. You understand the point of a rescue which we no longer are is to rehabilitate and rehome if possible. Some cannot be found new homes due to medical or behavioural issues. These steps are taken among any and all animal rescues.

Now while you've acted immaturely and shared a home address where young children reside across the internet (which has put children in harms way) and a phone number you will be happy to know the home is being sold. And the statement of having 13 horses on 2 acres yea i have never had more than 6 and after speaking with development and by law that is the number we are allowed given the property is intact with another 2.5 acres showing a total space of 4.5 acres and allowing up to 8 horses. Any and all animals must be provided a dry place to lay down or escape water, mud, snow etc. Also if you do research a dry paddock does not have to be a huge space. Take into account that multiple horses have shared smaller paddocks at boarding barns which you see a perfectly ok. Take memento who lacks the turnout so many horses are in a stall for 90% of the day and some do not get turned out. But hey your ok with that. Here they have a dry safe place from the weather/elements. A bucket of grain and supplements twice a day, tons of hay and fresh water and a decent size turnout to accommodate them. And since you seem to think fencing is shoddy then you should probably check because I believe that most horse owners use electric fencing similar to ours. So guess their fence is just as shoddy right. So do you understand how much bullshit is actually posted? A lot. And it's not coming from me. Just a group of immature women with nothing better to do! Get your facts straight. No sorry you can't. Because you have none!

 Ok Christine so you have the control right now with this pony. You say someone who owned this pony 5 years ago is reaching out to get him back. This shows me that she must care deeply for him. Otherwise, why would she bother. You claim to rescue horses because you care about their well being. You got this pony for free and obviously do not want to offer him a forever home as you have him up for sale. So would the proper thing, in the best interest of this pony not be to let him go to someone who cares about him? Is this not what success in rescue is about? Seeing them go to a loving home where they can die happy and loved? You claim to be doing all this for the horses. This would be a happy ending, would it not? If it's about the money I know there are many people that would donate just to see this happy ending, as wrong as it would be to accept money. But if it meant this pony that has probably given 26 yrs to pleasing people, had a person to love him than so be it. This is in your hands to do right by this little guy.

Christine, look at this horse, how can you NOT see? She looked wonderful when she arrived at your place. Do you not see her ribs and hip bones in the photo taken months after, the mud fever? How is this fair, how can you honestly believe you are doing good?

I cannot believe this individual is still harming animals and innocent people. I've known this person for many years and even as a child she had no respect for horses, she was outright mean to them when they did not obey her. I've had my own horror experiences with her many years back and have shared stories with many from one end of this Province to another. She is very well known in the horse world and not in a human way. She has caused more grief to horses and people than anyone I have ever encountered in my life. I lost track of her for a few years and was hoping for the best but I see she is back at it with a new last name. Ive not spoken up until now due to knowing what she is capable of, there are no lines with her when she lashes out. She has been known to harm innocent animals as revenge tactic on their owners, which is why many won't speak out or go to the authorities. I hope with the unthinkable killing of a lose horse, finally accountability will be placed and animals will be saved. I could tell plenty of stories but it looks as though, according to the reports attached, including her very own posts there is enough there to make anyone see what is going on. I look at the picture of the chestnut when she arrived and then a few months later, sad, very sad decline. The disturbing thing is she herself does not see it or doesn't even care. Now there is a 26 yr old pony who should be living out the remainder of his years where he is loved. He has that opportunity by the sounds of the story, but she is going to deny him of this, as she states herslef. Is this a person who cares? I see she has support, one being a family member. This makes me question your ability to know what is right and what is wrong. I am pleased to see there are still people standing up for these animals, god knows they need it. I'm glad to see she has been removed from some of the most reputable horse buying/selling sites on facebook and they have left the warning of her up on the site. She has spent time at many barns across the Province only to be banned shortly after because of her behavior. Please read her very own posts and ask yourself if this sounds like a caring individual with the best interest of the horse at heart?I could share more stories but that would be hearsay information and you have all of the information straight from her mouth right here. And to you Christine please I beg you to stop harming these animals. If your family is being endangered as you say, stop what you are doing, make a responsible parental decision. 

 None of the information provided is true. Police spoke to the gentleman who bought the pony front laura. Again nothing they can do. Second all I see is words and messages.... all you have as you have no physical proof of no shelter or proper care. Again a coward. Knowing a lawsuit is in progress you won't release your name. I am sure I can narrow it down to who and the lawyer is filing a subpoena towards this site which means they can track you down anyways :) nobody has seen nor watched anything. Even the time frame is wrong. The info is false. You need actual proof! Which there is none of... explain that?

The original owner of October Red wants her registered pony back. The person the pony passed hands through from her is completely aware of what is going on and IT WILL BE DEALT WITH, when he returns to Canada. What type of person, who claims that they care about animals and who lies about wanting to rescue animals, would try to sell a senior geriatric pony for $2000. at 26 years of age, instead of giving him back to his rightful owner where he would live out his days loved and cared for! You are a total fraud! Not to mention trying to sell the poor old dear's harness for an extra three hundred dollars which you CHRISTINE, got for free with the pony? Does this pony not deserve to keep his harness rather than you make a profit off of this poor elderly animal? Christine does not see a problem with this, as the rest of the horse community watches in horror!

Every single horse Christine has aquired, she has done so by promising the owners a forever home only to turn around and try to sell these poor elderly animals at obscene prices. Within weeks the price drops from thousands to hundreds to sales posts from her like "IF GONE TODAY". The proof and evidence has all been posted publically by Christine herself. And we know, that you writing this - are actually Christine herself. People have seen the actions for so long you can no longer fool anyone, only yourself. Christine does not "RESCUE" animals, she seeks out vulnerable persons and cons them out of their animals.

Hey Folks, we are going to sit back and let Christine demonstrate some of exactly what we are talking about here. You can be gauranteed 1000% that all of ther rebuttals on her behalf, are written by her. This is normal protocol with this con artist. She has dozens of fake emails, fake facebooks etc. In the meantime, we will put together a collage of posts made by Christine herself on other internet sites such as facebook etc, that clearly demonstrate her level of con.  The lady who owned the 25 yr old pony owned him 5 years ago. She attempted to charge with theft however then stated to police she actually sold the pony and the paper trail was tracked down. Police were involved on multiple occasions and there were no charges. A lawsuit has been filed but the amount of evidence and names and photos to go through is extensive. Only a coward wouldn't post their name for fear of being called out legally. Again where is the actual proof? Property photos? Recent horse photos? Etc. Messages and screenshots are nothing. Where is the real proof?

 All I see are posts and messages. Looking for actual pictures. Before and after. Lack of food or health issues, age? Etc etc... thanks

 We gave this lady a horse. We also did follow up visits. She had everything they needed and then some. The horse gained weight, saw a farrier, had a vet check. You name it she did everything for him. And she even found him a fantastic home! A home where I still get updates.

 Who does this to someone.... Who terrorized someone with lies..... Where is the actual proof? Where are the thin horses..... where are the pictures (recent) that show she has nothing for these animals.... this is fake without real proof

 As a relative to the individual named here it is absolutely appalling to hear such bull from someone. We have watched Christine fight for the animals to save them. This is so full of crap it's ridiculous. How someone can make such a statement that is untrue and hurt someone for enjoyment is beyond me!

I too have watched this person con people out of their animals over the years promising a forever home, fraudulantly posing as an animal sanctuary when she does not even have a barn or adequate paddocks/pastures for animals. Once she succesfully cons a person out of their animal, it is automatically posted for sale at exasperated prices just days later. The evidence is all there in Christine Carman (Shaw/Demont) own ads posted on line for all to see.

This is the work of a con artist. This person has NEVER had anyone approach her to take an animal. She constantly scans facebook, kijiji and other places then contacts the owners. That is an absolute fact. Just recently she aquired two additional "free" horses and within days posted a 26 year old senior geriatric pony for sale at the unbeleivable price of $2000. As per usual when the pony didn't sell right away, the price suddenly dropped to $1000. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are involved in this one as well. The registered owner of the pony is desperately trying to get back her pony, which Carman continues to advertise this poor very old pony for sale for profit. If you want the poor old dear's harness, that will cost you an extra three hundred dollars. :( What kind of monster does this to these animals! Trying to profit off of these elderly and needy animals and to stoop to the lowest of the low and also try to profit off the poor dear's harness which she also aquired for free with him. An absolutely disgusting human being....

Not suprising to see Carman's reply to this report. Saying she has been lied about etc. and that lawsuits are underway. Those are her "go to" pathological lies to defend her horiffic actions, as recently as eight weeks go or thereabouts she has a very healthy, beautiful three year old horse shot in the head and killed simply because it got out of a fence and she could not catch it. This poor animal had always roamed a fifty acre pasture, which Carman was well aware of when she conned the owners to letting her try out the horse. Yet, when it arrived at her place only to be put in a 60 x 40 foot mud paddock with other horses. Day one she administered sedative to the filly and saddled it and rode with it absolutely no ground work ever done prior. This woman is irresponsible and dangerous and should NOT be allowed to even own an animal.

As far as court action, there absolutely is court action being taken against Carman and those court documents will be posted here in the coming weeks to continue to expose the fraud commited by this woman, and the deaths of the animals as a result of them being in her care.

 The post is bogus. The young lady in question has had everything destroyed over false statements. Her home address was posted which has invited strange people to her place on multiple occasions putting her family in danger. This lady has done everything medically for animals under veterinary advisement including having vet records. She has shelter, food, medications available at all times to her animals. Those who wrote the report have never been to the property. This lady has filed a lawsuit against the individuals involved, has had to spend a large amount of money to protect her home and family. She has been accused of multiple things none of which are remotely true. She has such a large majority of references in regards to the care along with a huge support system. She fought harder for the animals than anyone else did. People got rid of their problems and put them on her and she has been destroyed for it. Animals posted in the photos were provided love and care. And those who could be found new homes did. Those with contracts stating otherwise were kept or given back. The user remained anonymous because they knew what they posted was blatant lies and did not want to be known for posting false accusations. They sent people to the lady's property. They have endangered a young family. I will enjoy seeing these people held accountable for such lies. The truth will come out and hopefully her character will be repaired.

When will this be ended!!! It seems that most (not all) people are in it for the money, and not the animals well being. This has got to stop and laws have got to be made for horses. Not just horses but all livestock! And people like Christine have got to be stopped.
