I bought a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee three years ago and I have had nothing but problems with it. Less than three months after I bought the vehicle the whole computer system went out on it. When I reported the problem the company was hesitant to pay for the repairs and then besides that they made me pay for a rental car for over a week while they took their sweet time to fix it. They have rental cars at another one of their dealerships which is where I rented the car from and still wouldn't pay anything.

Since that time I have had to replace the air conditioning compresser, water pump, the brake lights and lights are replaced every few months, my front drivers seat is broken (I only weigh 130 pounds so its not due to weight), My knob for the air conditioner sunk in, and I have had constant problems with my breaks. I only have 40 some thousand miles on this vehicle and I feel like someone should take responsibility and reimburse me or give me a new vehicle.

Numerous people I have spoke with who purchased Jeep Cherokees from 1999 on have had similar and more extensive problems then I have. Why should I have to pay for a vehicle that was obviously built improperly and then pay all the money for repairs too. I want to trade the vehicle in but noone wants them and I cant even get near what I owe on mine because car dealerships are over run with used ones. Does anyone know of someone I can contact who will listen or care in the Diamler Chrysler Corporation? Please help.

I know firsthand that Locklear's tries very hard to please every customer. I was a service advisor at all of their dealerships at one time or another. They let us do whatever it took to please the customer. If there is a problem that the Service Manager cant handle, then go to the General Manager, if that isn't satisfactory go straight to Steve Locklear, and the problem will be solved!! The Jeep Store opened 4 years ago and has been very successful in customer satisfaction.

I have had to deal with those people for 2 years now, and they just don't care. You would be wise to go to the Attorney General, however at this late date I doubt you can do anything unless you have documented the same problem 5 times in a row. Then it would be considered under the lemon law, and if the statute of limitations hasn't run out.

Check and see, you may qualify for a new vehicle under this law, however make sure you have documentation for everything -else it won't fly with the general.

Good luck, keep us posted
