On a Living Social "deal" offer, I purchased four oil changes from the Safford Chrysler dealer of Springfield.  The deal was supposedly good for four oil changes, and stated that only one vehicle at a time would be honored.  Otherwise the fine print on the Living Social deal implied multiple cars could use this contract.

Our first surprise was that only one car and one owner could use the contract.  Two oil changes into the agreement, nearly a year later, I sold my car, and attempted to get an oil change done on the car I now own.  The dealer refused to honor it, and the Chrysler Service Contracts people refused to honor it, claiming their contract states that only one VIN number will be honored.  Their contract does not, in fact, state that.  Further, on both phone calls to the 800 # service people, they were rude, unpleasant, and tried to shift the problem back onto me.  The only "proof" they could offer about the restrictions on their policy was that "the plan is not transferable to any subsequent owner" -- a switch I was not attempting in any way to make.

There is something unusually ugly in this transaction -- not even an attempt at customer service, a strick unilateral walk away.  I would not do business with this dealer or this company again, even if the offer were stone free.  Beware.
