I signed up for a free credit report and was hesitant about giving my debit card number to get something for free but seemed assured that I would not be charged.

Well, not until the next month..that's when they hit me with the $79.95 charge that overdrew my account....I have no job at this time and everything is crazy!!!!
I went back online after I discovered the charge and searched for the small print that I was told that I did not read by the Representative named Mark from CIC. I found the small print describing the tactic of "if you do nothing then you will be charged".

This is BAD business...do nothing (forget about it) and we will get our money! I've been duped!!!

I checked my credit to buy something,I have checked my credit once in order to get printed documentation that I needed. Thats it. Then I find $79.95 has been taken out of my checking account in which I have a specific amount in there for a check I had written. Please give me the $79.95 back. Thank You

I did end up finding the Rip Off Report as I was looking for CICs phone number. I immediately called my credit card company to dispute these charges

I opened up my credit card statement to find a charge by CIC for $79.95. As most folks, I did not read the small print. However, I did end up finding the Rip Off Report as I was looking for CICs phone number. I immediately called my credit card company to dispute these charges. However my customer service wanted me to talk to CIC and dispute with them first...and so they connected me.

When I finally got through to CIC, I spoke with an Irene who seemed to have her explanation memorized or written down to read to their customers. For some reason I believe she has done it a million time. Anyways, I told her I was upset for not receiving notice that my 30 day trial was up, that my acct would be charged, and that I was not updated the whole time. Now, being as angry as I was, I was still polite. After it was all explained, I asked if I could cancel now, and receive a full refund. And the answer was YES. In 2-3 days I will be receiving a full refund.

Trust me, I will be checking my account everyday after that, but it seemed to work out for now.
