I responded to "free credit report" that appeared in my in-box.

My VISA was billed $79.95. I did not authorize this and I received nothing.

When I looked at Cic Credit Monitor, I found that numerous complaints for the same thing had been entered. It was from these that I found the mailing address and phone number. Also found references to Consumerinfo.com. Wonder if this is a parent company.

CIC credit is Consumerinfo.com. So is Freecreditreport.com. If you go to either website you will be able to get all their contact information. FYI, it used to be owned by Memberworks.com aka MWI, Do a search under either name and you'll see all the complaints against their former company.

For those of you that cancelled within 30 days and were still charged, you're not alone. This is why you must pursue this and file complaints. Also, those of you that incurred bounced check fees due to the unauthorized withdrawal of funds from your account, don't accept their refusal to not pay all the funds back to you.

I tried to cancel through the 1-800# but they make it impossible, you sit on hold forever.
I ended up cancelling around the 21st day of my free trial, via email to their cancellation email address. On the 31st day, I received an email saying "We have recieved your cancellation and it is in process".. I called my bank and discovered it was overdrawn due to a withdrawal from my acct of $79.95.

They deliberately waited and processed my email way after I sent it.

I filed complaints with FTC, FBI Fraud, BBB, Fl dept of consumer affairs, etc.

In my complaint, I stated they deliberately delayed my cancellation notice until after the 30 days was up. I stated I had a copy of the email with the date on it.

They replied to 2 of my complaints and acknowledged that my cancellation was delayed due to "some problems with their back office functions" at the time. BULL!

Save everything you can. If you emailed them, try to retrieve it from your sent file. Docucement names of individuals that you speak with. Any correspondence you have, save it! I have saved mine for over a year and recently had a need for it. Hopefully, the class action lawsuit should still be in progress pending the hearing which was scheduled on 3/28. Search back through the CIC posts and you'll find the info. Also, search this site for consumerinfo.com and you'll find more.....

Go to www.eopinions.com, do a search under consumerinfo.com and you'll find more complaints, including mine.

Did I get my $79.95 PLUS 2 bounced check fees back? You better believe I did!! I wasn't going to be a sucker and let them get away with it and neither should you! File complaints everywhere, post your experience with these crooks anywhere that you can. Let others know!

They had no right to do this to you so do something about it!
