CIC Credit Monitor Service Cancel@consumerinfo.com ripoff victimized many consumers Little did we know that we would be charged annually for a "free" report. Nationwide
As a farm family whose credit is very important, since we are classified as self-employed, we thought a credit report would be a beneficial tool in knowing what a lender sees and how we are rated. Little did we know that we would be charged annually for a "free" report.
The report was generated in June 2002 and suppossedly cancelled July 2002 when the first $79.95 charge appeared on our credit card statement. Thinking this situation was taken care of, it wasn't given a second thought until this year, July 2003 the second charge was made.
When phoning the number the CIC Credit Monitor so "generously" provide on the credit card statement -you receive a nice recording prompting you to simply e-mail and provide the information on the report so that the matter can be handled. Being a somewhat patient person,I did e-mail them to see if it does indeed bring results.
In the process, I found this rip-off report on this particular company! To my surprise I was not the only one being taken advantage of!
