CIC ripped me off!!! They offered a "free credit report." I never recieved any confirmation of my "membership" nor did I have any way to contact them.

In September of 2003, there was an ad on the home page of MSN for at least a week offering a free credit report. I followed the links and ended up with my "free report" but I never knew from whom I was obtaining the information. I thought it was through MSN money. I hoped and expected to recieve some kind of confirmation of my account via email. It would seem logical, based on my past experience with web based memberships and free trials, that some type of confirmation would have been sent to my email address. Once I left the website with my free credit report, I had no way to get back in touch with them. I couldn't remember the name of the company nor was I given a phone number.

When the credit of 79.95 showed up on my credit card, I was appalled. I searched CIC Credit Monitor and came up with this website as well as theirs.

Now when I go to their website, it is clearly written that the credit card will be billed. It wasn't set up that way when I unknowingly "subscribed."

This is a scam and I hope we can all get our money back. I inted to contact my credit card company to get the money refunded.
