First of all, my father is brain-damaged and cannot even turn on a TV, much less use a computer.

On August 11, 2004, I noticed that an unauthorized debit of $79.95 had been made to his bank account that day, in favor of CIC Credit Monitoring, Consumerinfo.com, 800-220-2626.

I called and after a very long wait on hold, demanded an explanation for the charge.

The rep explained to me that my dad had ordered their service online. I explained that he didn't know the difference between a PC and a potted plant, and that he could not possibly have done as she said.

After much arguing, she finally agreed to refund his money. Today, August 23, 2004, a refund was made--but only for $77.73. Yeah, I know, it's only $2.22. But this is not about money. It's about principle. From reading this and other boards, I see that their scam has been perpetrated on thousands of others.

CIC Credit Monitoring, Consumerinfo.com is a RIP-OFF and they should be put out of business!
