CIC Credit Monitoring Deceptive practices designed to snare consumers charging them for services never requested Irvine California
I ordered a consumer credit report to get a snapshot of my record which by law we are allowed to view for free once a year. That's all I thought I got until my credit card bill arrived with a mysterious charge for $11.95.
When I called to complain the operator said I had agreed to ongoing monitoring. The truth is that a while ago I ordered, online, 3 reports from 3 different companies so I could compare their information on me. On none of the applications, at no time, did I checkmark anything signifying agreement to have further services.
When pressed the operator said she could cancel further charges but couldn't refund the fees to date. Pressed further she gave me the address to write to saying her suprevisor was too busy (with other calls) to talk to me. She suggested I copy the bill showing the charge and mail it to Consumer Relations Group P.O. Box 19729 Irvine, CA 92623-9729

annualcreditreport.com is the real free site..
NOT freecreditreport.com - They require a credit card and enrollment in their monthly service to get your "free credit report." It's a scam...but they need your money to pay for all those dumb commercials.....
