CIC Triple Advantage I was charged $12.00/month for "FREE CREDIT REPORT" & "FREE TRIAL MEMBERSHIP" Irvine California
CIC Triple Advantage sent an email under the heading, "Free Credit Report" and it also said one month trial membership for only $1.00. The entire email gives the impression you can log on to your account just to check your credit score at any time, and all you have to do is give a credit card so they can collect their $1.00.
After you agree to the payment and fill out the form, you are automatically debited $1.00 on each of two more services (hence, Triple Advantage) which were not advertised in the bold heading as was FREE Credit Report. I realized I had been charged because the company instantly sends more emails confirming your memberships and also gives the phone numbers to cancel 2 of the 3 services while making the customer believe the entire transaction has been canceled. For $1.00 I bought a look at my credit report, I did not intend to have a credit monitoring service, nor did I expect to have $12.00 debited each of the last 3 months from my checking account.
When I noticed this charge on my bank statement and tracked back the last 3 months I immediately searched the web for CIC Triple Advantage to find out what it was I was paying for. When I clicked "go" a long list of complaints was displayed on my screen and also Ripoff Report gave the information so I could get in touch with the company. I insisted they refund my money and cancel the unauthorized membership; the membership was canceled, however, when I asked for the refund the agent (Jamie #4467) refused and became very rude when I asked to speak with the manager. I myself became rude the staffer and when I insisted I speak with the manager I was hung up on.
After calling back (and speaking with another representative), I was connected with a floor manager who told me I would not be refunded because they have no record of my cancellation....I find this particularly interesting that the original transaction listed 2 phone numbers for instant cancellations but not 3 (after all, they call themselves Triple Advantage and are attempting to debit $12.00/month x 3 accounts)! This is a completely fraudulent advertisement and deliberately misleading. Quite a successful scam...of that I'm sure. Buyer Beware!!!
