On 8/22/00 I was foolish enough to purchase a Maytag Neptune washer as an "open box" buy from Circuit City. The machine was malfunctioning by January to the point that I called Maytag for service. I was then told by Maytag that this machine was already registered as being owned by a gentleman in Maryland. Since I live in California and had registered my machine when purchased, this was news to me!!! After a couple of calls to Maytag and Circuit City the Maytag people agreed to warranty the machine. During the course of the discussions surrounding this, I did find out that this machine had been returned to CC for the same problem I was reporting (failure to properly spin clothes).
I also learned that CC'c basic attitude was TOO d**n BAD.

After the FIRST repair, i was able to hear what a properly running machine sounded like and I realized that it had been broken from day one. I am now into my second service call for malfunction, and can only hope the California lemon law will kick in after repair number three.

I also learned that the sales people have NO ACCESS TO PREVIOUS SERVICE RECORDS, only the mangers are so privileged.

CAN YOU SAY CONSUMER FRAUD, MR. ROGERS?? SURE YOU CAN!!!!
