Complaint Review: Cicuit City

I purchased computer speakers from the Circuit City website on memorial day for $129.99 with an advertised $90 rebate. When I couldn't find the rebate forms, I called their help line. To make a long story short, after 4 phone calls and about an hour wasted talking to different people, I was finally told that they had made a mistake and that I would not be getting the $90 in rebates advertised by them, but I could send in for a $30 rebate. I told their customer complaint line that I would not have purchased the speakers for that price had I known they didn't come with the full rebate. I was told there was nothing they could do for me.

So I returned the speakers to the store. When I explained my situation and dissatisfaction to the store manager, Dan, he told me he couldn't do anything for me. I was in the middle of a sentence and he walked away from me so he didn't have to hear my complaint and helped another customer make a return. Now, he came from his office to speak to me, he doesn't ring up returns normally. He just didn't want to talk to me because he knew I was right. I said, a good business doesn't make their customers pay for their mistakes. Best Buy is across the street, so I guess I will shop there until they prove they don't care about there customers.
