I recently signed up for health insurance through my work. This is the first time I had to do it on my own. I've always been under my parents insurance.
I thought I was signing up for the plan I needed. I am young and in pretty good health. I just wanted insurance for routine physicals, etc.

I enrolled in the Level 1 plan which in my benefits description packet stated it covered 100% of doctor office visits and 80% of related charges in connection with the office visit; I only had to pay the $15 co-pay. Needless to say, I just got a bill for over $500 just for a yearly exam!

I called the insurance company to ask why they didn't cover any of these claims and they informed me this insurance does not cover routine physicals or exams. Apparently they are a "sickness and accident policy" only.But nowhere in ANY of the information sent to me by this company does it state that.

Also, when I called with my questions, the woman who I talked to on the phone was not very helpful. I explained I had nothing in writing stating the insurance wouldn't cover my office visit. I told her the paper I had says it covers 100% but she said nope, sorry about your luck but you just got screwed.

So just a warning to others who are interested in getting insurance through CIGNA Starbridge. . . DON"T!
