I had a wireless account with at&t for years. In October of 2004 I wanted to join my husband on a shared plan, I was that I would have to purchase a new phone if we were to be on the same plan because I had a digital plan and he was gsm. I purchased a Motorola v600. A month later at&t merged over with cingular wireless. When we were given the option to migrate over to cingular I was told once again that I would have to purchase another phone because my phone would not work with cingular. At that time I said that I did not want to migrate since I was still making payments on the v600 phone I received a month before.

After 10 months and four re-furbished motorola v600 phones I decided to migrate over to cingular, this time I was told that I had not fullfilled the terms of our contract, and would have to pay full price for the new phone with no money off for the damaged v600 and sign up for another two year contract. After repeated calls to cingular explaining that I was never informed that we would be penalized for not migrating when given the chance in November, Getting nowhere, I finally was told that they would let us out of our contract without a penalty if we signup with cingular with a new 2 year contract, and purchase new phones. At that time I was told that we would have about the same plan as with at&t, early nights and weekends, plus 1000 anytime minutes. When I went down to the cingular store I was told a completely different story and was embarrased, when the store called cingular they made me out to be a liar even when I gave the name of the man who made the agreement with me two days before.

All they gave us was 500 anytime minutes at a higher rate then we had before. After numerous calls to cingular and many stressed out trips to the store I finally gave up with the fact that cingular wireless are crooks and that I should have never signed up with them...."BEWARE"
