i just want to say about my experience with cingular, is that on feb 2005 me and my roommate signed up for cingular, and dropped our land line to save money, what a joke that was.

we ordered the extra phone for 9.95 and didnt realise they charged that amout each month. just today i called to cancel one of the cells and they said it would be 150.00. we sai we would continue the service but they insisted that it costs 150.00 to diconnect one of thier stinkin phones.

so in our total frustration with these clowns, we decided to cancel the total service, and these scammers said it would cost 300.00 well now were really getting staemed with these creeps and would like to get in contact with an attorney. also i have the documents stating what the deal was supposed to be and of course they never stuck to thier end of this arrangement.

when i first typed in cingular in ripoffreport.com, i was not a bit surprised to see that there would be a few pages from rippped off customers just like us. these cingular creeps should be repoted also on the media like sixty minutes 20/20 and all news stations before these jerks rip off more people.

dear reader if you were thinking of ever ordering cingular, please do yourself a big favor and steer clear of these thieves. i doubt there will be any rebuttels from cingular, they know what a crooked outfit they are, and a rebuttel from them would show they are just as stupid as they are crooked.

I'm an employee of Cingular Wireless, partly because I'd been a happy customer for over 3 years. Now I get to see things from the other side of the spectrum. Of course, no company is perfect. If they make mistakes (which everyone does), they should fix them. However, the majority of complaints I hear would've been avoided completely with a little common sense from the customer. When you call to get landline service or internet service, of course it's going to be a recurring charge. You can't expect to get something for nothing. Cingular has a 30 days buyers remorse period. The last I checked, it's the longest in the industry. That should be long enough to figure out if you're happy with the service and your phone. If you weren't aware of the early termination fee, it doesn't make it just go away. Once again, common sense would say that if you sign a contract and then break that contract, there will be a penalty. I see a lot of people who lose their phone, drop it in water, etc after a couple months in contract. Then they're shocked that they can't just walk into a store and get a free phone. The free phones come with a contract, and therefore a discount. You can't just resign your contract whenever you want to get a discount on a new phone. You have to fulfill a certain amount of your original contract first. And I think the whole free phone thing is pretty generous in the first place. When I sign up for cable, I don't expect to get any discount on a TV. When I sign up for internet service, I don't expect to get a discount on a computer. When I sign up for landline service, I don't ask when they're sending me my free phone. It's important to read the fine print in any contract you sign. Although the reps explain the main points when you sign up for service, it's the customer's responsibility to understand the contract they're signing and ask questions when they don't. If a customer is too cheap to go with the plan that Cingular recommends, they can't blame Cingular when overage charges occur. A lot of former AT&T customers think they magically have rollover and mobile to mobile on their plans. If you're not sure, call and ask. But common sense would say that Cingular is not going to just change your plan around without your permission. The last recommendation I would have is to stick with corporate sales when signing up for service or upgrading a line. All wireless companies have resellers of their service, and I see A LOT of issues and problems caused by customers unknowingly signing up through a third party. The phones are sometimes less expensive, but it's usually not worth it.
