On May 2006, I cancelled my Cingular service. I received a statement that the service has been disconnected and I owe $136 for the service to turn on. I didn't want the service to be turned on so I have been waiting for the final bill. But I never received a final bill from Cingular. However, on July 7th I received a call from a collection agency telling me that they are trying to collect for Cingular in the amount of over $200.

I immediately contacted Cingular in which they instructed the bill was mailed out on June 12th. Only 25 days later I get the call from a collection agency. Also according to Cingular, my account was only referred to the agency and has not hit my credit.

On July 12th, I receive another call from the collection agency. I again called Cingular in which I asked them to pull my account from the collection agency since at this time I have not seen the final bill and I do not know if I agree with the amounts requested. Brenton from Cingular replies that the only way to pull my account from the agency is for me to pay the entire amount requested plus additional amount of 18%. This time they are asking for over $300.

All of this plus the fact that the first time I tried to contact Cingular I was on hold for over 20 minutes before any representatives came on the line to help me.
