Today right before I went into work my boyfriend and I were approached in the food court of the Santa Anita Mall in Arcadia , California. This young guy said his name was Chris and asked for a couple seconds of our time. He continued to tell us about a magazine drive he was involved in at P.C.C. where if you sold a certain amount of subscriptions a part of you tution would be paid to go to school for a semester abroad in London. He was very charasmatic, witty and showed us all these laminated leaflets. It seemed legit.

He proceeded to come with us so I could have a cigarette before I went into work. Making small talk on the way. He got pretty chummy with us talking to us about his girlfriend and all this crap. Seemed like a cool guy which didn't make me think twice about spending $40 on 2 subscriptions. . . which now I know is waaaaay cheap and I probably should have thought something was up.

I didnt really think anything of it until I was talking to a client of mine who said some guy scammed her a while back. Which in turn got me wondering. So I checked the website seeing it was a load of crap. Then search the company on yahoo, and saw a ripoff report that happened to someone in Whittier which isnt too far.

Anyways I told him to come by my work tomorrow. Which I'm pretty sure he'll still be around the mall. I fully intend to notify security and see if I can't get them to check out if they see him on tape.

He claims his name is Chris. Early 20's, about 5ft6 ish. light brown hair very short (buzz cut), had both ears pierced, fair skin. Had the whole skater look and was well groomed. Claimed to have a girlfriend name Joelle who was a hairstylist working in Pasadena. Said she used to work at Salon Aguayo. (doubt she exsists)
He targets college age people. I saw him talking to a couple different girls who were alone. He definetly charms his way into your wallet. I hope this is of use to any of you.
