I went to CC (Wilkins Twp. location) on 8/18/2006 armed with thier 10% off coupon on all TVs $100 and up including sale items. I found the Hitachi 65" projection TV clearly listed on sale for $1424.99. I tendered my coupon to the sales associate who scanned the coupon, and much to my surprise, the register screen showed up with a $75 discount. I questioned the associate, and he called for a mgr. The mgr. explained that the tv was already discounted and that the $75 was all he could give me. I read the coupon to make sure everything was in line with my coupon. 1) 10% on all TVs $100 & up including sale items. 2)not valid on delivery, sales tax, and clearance items. this is a sale item, not a clearence item. 3) not valid on Sharper image or Disney items 4) good 8/1/2006 thru 8/31/2006. 5) Not valid on previuos sales. after checking all the exceptions, I argued that I still met the coupon's conditions. I got a smoke and mirrors answer that the TV was already discounted, and that the coupon did not apply. I still bought the TV, figuring I was dealing with a dope that couldn't read. I called CC customer service on the morning of the 19th, and after waiting on the phone for 30 minutes, I basically got the same reply. I don't know if CC people can't read, don't know basic math, or their company policy is just plain rip off customers. Remember I took the time to file this report, how many victims don't bother to do anything? I am sure if another big box store like Sears was in this fiasco with the coupon, the problem would have been solved before I left the store. If Sears would have had the same item, CC would not have my business.

I do not have this set in my store but RETURN IT!!!!!!! Ya got 30 days with no re-stock fee on TV's. Even if you did not pay to have it delivered you can pay $50 or so to have it picked up by CC (that is an option)if you do not want to fool with putting in your truck. If you did pay for delivery then we must pick it up for free.

If you go in (call first to check schedules)and ask for the "entertainment manager" and tell him in a cool and calm manor why you wish to return it and about the $75 you approx. got shorted on the coupon (though most say no sale items). Just tell him its a matter of principle. I think he would rather adjust the price than deal with the open box tv he would have to sell at a bigger loss than $75.

Once maybe twice in MANY, MANY years have I seen a coupon that stated "includes sale items" but if a manager read that and did not do it I feel that was a bad decision by one individule.

Good luck

So why did you buy it?

No projection TV will be as sharp as a direct view TV, and sharpness will be more important if you are going strictly HD with all inputs (which I have done).

I just leave a store if I encounter something I don't like. I haven't bought anything from CC yet.

Nothing is important enough to me to put up with any nonsense, or at least anything that the people in a given store cannot convince me is NOT nonsense. Besides, I have always found everything I hadn't bought simply 'because the situation did not seem right' for less some little time later. Being in a hurry never seemed to pay (me).
