I submitted a $50.00 rebate for the purchase of an I/O Magic external hard drive-(which was purchased on Black Friday). I also submitted a $50.00 Circuit City rebate for the hard drive as well. In total I should have received $100.00 for the purchase at the store.

It is 4 and a half months already, and I still have not received either rebate! I called I/O Magic, and all I get after waiting on the phone for an extended amount of time-(in que as the recording says)-is a lousy voice mail. They never return your call, so don't waste your time. By the way, my mom also submitted her rebate at the same time, and has not received a dime!

So, both my mom and I have been duped for $200.00! I will never buy another I/O Magic product again!-as their products are not that great anyway. But as they say-"YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!"

I have read many complaints, and see that I am not the only one. Something should be done, to ensure the safety and fairness to consumers. You would think Circuit City would have sent the check much sooner also! I purchased a Seagate external from them about 1 month ago, I already got the rebate from Seagate!

Circuit City and I/O Magic, you should be ashamed of yourselves taking money from the people who support your store and product(s)!! VERY DIS-SATISFIED CUSTOMER!

Don't buy items with mail in rebates!

#2Consumer Suggestion

If everyone stopped buying these items, the stores would stop running this money making scam. They count on people not filling out the forms properly, forgetting to send in the original receipt, UPC code from the box, etc.

If you insist on buying items this way, then send the claim form and receipt certified mail and make copies of everything. I know it costs a few dollars, but every one of the rebates I've sent in this way have been paid.

As for getting your money back now, I'd say you have a slim chance in ####.
