Complaint Review: Circuit City

Circuit City ripoff beware of the condition of exchange only 1 time within 14 days Columbus Ohio

Just want to remind anyone who want to buy anything from Circuit City, they have fourteen days to return and just only 1 time,you can not return it 2 times. I buy one computer notebook which have the over heat problem return one time to get the same brand hope it will have no problem but it really have the same problem and need to return to buy the new brand but now they will not accept the second return. I wonder about the quality of the products that they carry it may be second hand or some special mark price from manufacturing. Please think twice before you buy anything from this company. I promise to myself not to buy anything from this company again.

I agree that normally nobody have this problem but just in case that you may have, what should you do?

You wanted responce to these two claims so here goes!

1)The return policy at Circuit City.

The return policy at CC is the same as every other brick and mortar in regards to computers. You have two weeks for defects. CC accepted the return but didnt do another one because that laptop would have the same problem. It is good advice to go to Toshiba as it seems to be a problem with that model.

2)The quality of the products that Circuit City carries.

We carry high end and low end products. In the last year I have had three computers returned because of problems. Factored in with my 10 sales a day that is a pretty good ratio. Of course the higher end products will have less issues then the low end products. If I find out a comptuer has a problem (we have had three this year) I dont sell it. As stated that laptop is sold in many other places so it isnt CC's fault.

What you can do is see if you can exchange it with another similar priced laptop. If you didnt get that laptop with rebates (it would have been $500 if you did) you can spend $30 more and get the Acer AS3003wlci and it will be a much better product. I fear you probably wont ever be happy with that laptop running XP. It simply dosent have enough RAM and paying for extra would cost you more then a better laptop. Toshiba has been really hit or miss with overheating problems.

Good luck with getting it resolved though.

Well I guess really my only response to that non-sense would be that Best Buy also carries this laptop, Toshiba also carries it on their website... It IS stupid to claim it as Circuit City's laptop

Jason, you just done a great job for Circuit City.

With all respect to Circuit city employees, Jason just confirm me about problem and ethic at Circuit City. Now I know the things that I wonder in my reports are true.

I am hard worker so every cents that I earn must more difficult than Jason (I assume he is Circuit City Employee). So I buy the things that reasonable for me.

Just for your info Jason, I just buy 1 desktop with pentium D 830 more than $1,000 to serve as main center for internet support when I travel with this toshiba around Ohio in just 2 months and thanks for my luck I did not buy it from Circuit City.

******So if anybody read this report please beware about Circuit City ethic, they get easy money because they have the people like this just want easy money not care about customers and claim this is customer fault that buy the cheap one.

I am also wrote in my first report that I want to change for the new brand(identify more info: I really want to spend more ~ $600 for another Toshiba high grade but the people there Assist Sale and Sale Manager never listen), so Jason (as Circuit City employee) never listen or read what customers complain. **** This show the customer care *****

Just as I asked....

You're laptop that you have there does have heat problems no matter how many times you exchange it, we had the same issue in my store

It's not something that even Toshiba can fix for you, sorry

Obviously Circuit City is being reasonable in protecting their stock and know the problem better then the manufactuer

For the computer it is Toshiba Sat L25-S119, I call Toshiba Support, they accept this is the problem and need me to send for repair. I use Chill Mat to reduce the problem. The reason that I still not send it to repair because I need to use some notebook everyday for 2 months.
I work in computer for some years, I use a lots of Desktops and Notebook Computers. Normally Toshiba(at high price) is very good and have no problem for me. Just this module is very new and I need something quick and less cost.
For Heat problem I use temp strip to measure. I can provide more detail after I get information back from Toshiba.
For Circuit City people, please realistic and go to the point of the report.

Your problem seems to be with the manufactuer, and not with CC. You should contact them about the problems and see what they can do for you.
