I purchased a Computer (EMACHINE COMPUTER SERIAL # QCF07 500 05002) from Circuit City Store # 270 Las Vegas, NV 89119-6103 November 28th, Yr 2000.

I was given several Rebate Form to mail in to various addresses, and I sent them in to six different addresses (Including the Information that was asked for Such as Original Copy of Sales recript, Original Bar Code pealed off Carton, and also Serial # QCF07 500 05002 along with the Original Copy of Rebate Redmtion Form.

I received a letter today 1/12/2001 from Young America 717 Faxon Road Young America, MN 55397-9481 Tele: (888) 786 0797 Rebate Center stateing that my rebate could not be processed do to proof of purchase requirements.

I called number above and talked to one of there Agents Mindy and was asked if I still had the Carton the Item came in ( six weeks later) Luckily I had saved the carton I was told I would have to cut a hole in the carton in order to get Stamped
in Carton number off of it ( Number I had to cut through cardboard to get and mail back to them was 764296 10116 6 ) I am mailing all this information back to them 1/13/2001 by Certified Mail as I have heard have a history of not receiving Rebates that have been sent to them.

I have talked to many People that have had nothing but problems trying to get there Rebates. Many threw Original Cartons away many weeks earlier before they were notified they would have to get certain Numbers off of them.(therfore refused rebate).

The Instructions 0n how to get your Rebate are very unclear.
If this is not a Scam it will do till one comes along. Hopefully you can find out how many of these so called Rebates have been denied. I bet your findings will Shock you.

I have a simular situation that I have filed a complaint with the BBB. The salesman pushed the rebate and the purchase that I made was influenced by the fact that a rebate of $250 was offered. I fulfilled all the requirements on the instructions for application for the rebate.

Then I received a notice on 2/18/02 stating that I failed to include a copy of the sales receipt. The post mark on the envelope was 2/14/02 the notice was dated 2/01/02 and you had to respond within 30 days or your application for rebate was void.

So I made a copy of the original sales receipt again, kept it for my records and mailed them the original so there would be no more problems. The notice said to allow 8 weeks for processing. Now there are no records of my application on file.
