I paid a "one time only" charge of $19.95 to do a search for a marriage certificate with CIS. When asked to spend an additional $30 to actually DO the search, I attempted to cancel. I called PayPal, but they said they could not undo the transaction.  They gave me a phone number for Clickbank, where the charge was posted, but it was incorrect.

When I tried to contact CIS and Clickbank, I discovered there is NO WAY to do so; they give neither a phone # or an email address on either of their websites. Clickbank has garnered many complaints, according to the agent at Paypal.  The company defrauded me of 20 bucks. DON'T BE FOOLED!

Refund through Clickbank

#2Consumer Suggestion

Tue, February 23, 2010

First off I do not work for clickbank or this other company but maybe I can give you some info to help you get your refund.

First off CIS contracts with Clickbank who is a very legit company out of Boise, Idaho.  They are an affiliate management company which basically handles the billing for these smaller on-line vendors.  But as part of this contract the money that you paid though clickbank to CIS is held for 60 days and not paid to the vendor.

When you ordered you recieved an email reciept that actually came through the clickbank system and it has a transaction number on it.

Go to www.clickbank.com.  Go to the top of the page and click on "order help".  In that page you will enter the transaction number along with a verifying piece of information (very easy).  Go through the refund request and you will get the refund.  Because under the terms of the vendors agreement it is clickbank who makes the ultimate decision to return the money and not CIS.

Again I have had experience with this as a consumer several times and it is a breeze but it is important that you are under the 60 day time frame for the no questions ask refund.  Best of luck.
