First Data Merchant Services will increase their rates, charge you annual "compliance fees" their own customer service agents can't explain, and sneak in as many superfluous charges on your monthly statement as they can get any with.

If you process $8000 a month worth of charges don't be surprised that between one fee and the other you end up with less than $7600/month.  They charge the small merchants as well as the BIG merchants the same $179.00 annual compliance fee regardless of number of transactions or amount of annual  business in dollars. PLUS they have the MOST USER UNFRIENDLY call center. The 800 number they offer never once gives you the option of speaking to client services...you are a put into an endless circle of automated options.  When you finally figure out how to talk to someone and you threaten to leave the the company, they send you to the retention dept....not before waiting on line 10 or more minutes.

The retention dept offers you the sun, the moon and the stars...but then conveniently forgets to deliver...It isn't until you follow up with them YET one more time, that they lower your discount rate, eliminate unwanted fees, and finally give you a direct phone number you can call to get them on the line.....FRUSTRATING! The worse part is they can't be trusted! YOU HAVE TO READ YOUR STATEMENT EVER MONTH  and check every little detail....Who has time for this?

The company changes the signed contract without letting the customers know by adding new features like transarmor. You don't think you are paying for this feature think otherwise. You are being charged for this feature.

Your business is doomed if you are not  keeping daily or at least weekly records of income and spending.
