In August of 2009 I became a casualty of the auto industry and lost my Job.  From that point on until the end of 2011 I was able to maintain my mortgage payments thru my savings.  I contacted Citi's Homeowner support Department to request a loan modification.  At the same time I decided to go in business for myself to provide for my family.  I was contacted by one of their specialists and asked to submit the doc's required.  After the first thirty days I finally was able to talk to my specialist.  It takes an act of congress to contact the individual.

Every time I got the same answer, just wait until the evaluation is completed.  I went as far to ask the specialist if I should make a payment and was ill advised not to make it until the evaluation process was completed.  Well thirty days turned to sixty, ninety, and so on.  In July of 2012 I got a notice that my home was scheduled for foreclosure on September 11, 2012.  I contacted the specialist once again and was told not to make any payments and ignore the foreclosure notices.  In August of 2012 they changed my specialist and again I had to start the process all over again.

Again I was ill advised by the specialist not to make any payments. September arrived and still no solution regarding my modification.  I called them on the 11th and and spoke to a different specialist and to my surprise she could not locate my file, she told me that my file had been sent to the wrong department and that my home had been foreclosed.  I immediately ask to speak to my specialist and she confirmed the facts.  I was transferred to the recovery department and when I mentioned that I was going to seek legal assistance, they hung up on me.  My experience with them has been a night mare.  I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

mention legal assistance or that you are getting an attorney the only people that will talk to you will be the attorney's of Citi.  The little people will not talk to you once you go down that path......even if you don't plan on getting an attorney, you're file was note as a legal matter and the odds that you speak to anyone about your loan again without your attorney are remote.

Find out what your FEDTI, Front End Debt To Income, ratio is.  If it's under 38% odds are you're not getting a MOD.
