This is the second of two ripoff reports regarding a fraudulant charge to my credit card. The first report was on the company of Domain Register.

I contacted citibank regarding the fraudulant charge that was made to my card by the company of Domain Register as soon as I had learned of Domain Registers transaction.

Citibank sent me the neccesary forms to be filled out and I filled them out and returned them. The last form filed with citibank was an affidavit about the transaction with domain register. The affidavit was signed and notorized. All forms that citibank sent were filled out and returned to them.

The last contact that I had with a representative of citibank was from a woman in the investigation department. She very rudely told me she did not have to investigate the merchant and with that being said she also told me that I am being held responsible for the fraudulant charge of $290.00 that domain register had made to my card.

The result of citibanks refusal to investigate the company of Domain Register and resolve this dispute places citibank in the catagory of aiding and abbetting a company to ripoff a consumer.

After reading some of the other complaints made by consumers about citibank, all I can say is ditto, and agree with the message that citi bank is the worst of the worst. Throw the card in the garbage.

A couple of suggestions.

If Citibank denied your claim, you should receive or have received a letter stating their reason for denying the claim.

You are entitled to obtain copies of the documentation that they used to investigate (assuming that they at least investigated to determine if the charge was valid or not).

You can also contact the regulating agency for Citibank, The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, to file a complaint. They will investigate to determine if the bank followed proper procedure to investigate your fraud claim.

Good luck.

Hello RL,

I read your comment. I am sorry you are having trouble getting your account resolved with Citibank. To give you advice on how to fix your problem, I need more information. Is the merchant a company you have dealt with in the past and they billed you when they shouldn't have? If you can give me additional information, I can try to steer you in the correct direction to get it resolved.
