Complaint Review: Citibank

A collection agent from Citibank called my home and said she was with the COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT and needed to speak to my daughter NOW.

I once again asked who she was with and she said she was with the COUNTY SHERIIFS DEPARTMENT and had a complaint against my daughter and that she needed to speak with her or she would send an officer to pick her up.

I asked what it was regarding, she said LET ME SPEAK TO HER NOW! I woke my daughter up and my daughter asked her what this was regarding.

The woman told my daugther she was with the COUNTY SHERIIFS DEPARTMENT and that she needed to pay her bill or she would be locked up or in court.

As I was listening on the other line I told my daughter to ask her what is her telephone number at the Sheriffs Department so that she could verify who she was.

The woman then admitted she was with Citibank and was authorized to use the name of the COUNTY SHERIIFS DEPARTMENT.

Well, that's when I spoke up. First of all this is one of those companies that shoved a credit card down her throat on her last week of High School at the age of 17 knowing she had no means of repaying the debt.

I told the rude rude woman to never call my house again. I then hung up. Well of course she called back 6 times.

Finally I told her that I was going to put the COUNTY SHERIIFS DEPARTMENT on the other line she said a few choice words and hung up.

And of course she called back. I then told her sense she didn't want to talk to the COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT to never call my home again.

Well, she said "I am not going to stop calling until the bill is paid!" I told her this is not my daughters phone that is is mine, she said she didn't care.

I then told her that I was going to contact the FTC, the BBB and the State Attorney as well as the Attorney General. She said go ahead. So I am. I just stopped her first.
