Complaint Review: CITIBANK

CITIBANK We made ATM deposit on 4/30/2013; Accidently, we deposited check of $535 to our Checking plus account, instead of regular checking. Later on, we want to bank to correct this deposit from Checking plus to Regular Checking account. Citibank is refusing to do so. san bruno California

Citibank refused to correct ATM error. 

On 4/30/2013, my husband made deposit to our Citibank account in San Bruno ATM machine. But the machine accidently put one of his paycheck of $535 to our checking plus account, ruther than to our regular checking account. Later, we found out the money not in regular checking account, so we went to the branch. When we asked them to transfer $535 deposited money to our checking account. Branch people said it's not possible until the check was fully cleared. Later, I scheduled fund transfer from checking to regular checking account by internet. Citibank revoked my transfer, plus, they transferred $100 to cover certain transaction we made by debit card. This week, we tried several times to talk to Citibank over the phone and visited one more time to San Bruno Branch, even today, I opened investigation to my request, at the end, Citibank is refused my request. Reason is my checking plus with $1000 limit lowered the limit on 5/3/2013. 

My complain is ATM machine's error should be corrected. 

Citibank is trying to get benefit from my mistake. We have checking plus with $1000 limit for few years, and things is that we are not able to pay-off $1000, ruther we pay minimum per month. The payment was set transfer from our regular checking to checking plus monthly. However, we accidently made paycheck of $535 to checking plus over the ATM machine, it lowered our checking plus balance to $465. Right after they received our payment on 4/30/2013, they lowered our credit limit to $600 on 5/3/2013. Then, they refused to transfer $535 from checking plus account to our regular checking. 

My concern is Citibank's unfavorable attitude and kind of clever attitude of lowering checking plus limit right after receiving deposit by error on 4/30/2013. 

My concern and hope on this report is let Citibank do the following:

1) Consumer's ATM error should be fixed

2) Changing the checking plus limit without notice, ruther changing it by the time actual payment was deposited to the account by error which is looked like they are clever to off set our checking balance .......

3) Local branch people and 800 call center poeple are not communicating at all.... That way we can not trust the Bank especially like us middle/low income people barely using banking products------ but such inconveniency made us uncomfable to the major banks.
