Loan Modification with CitiMortgage.

When I first applied for a loan modification with CitiMortgage in December 2009 my payments weren't in arrears. Cit;y Mortgage informed me that I could begin the trial modification period and make modified interest payments . CitiMortgage told me this without disclosing the possibility of negative consequences to my mortgage payment history, and under the expectation that I would receive a permanent modification under the HAMP or other CitiMortgage loan modification program there after I was sent a letter and a phone call telling me that I was in 4 month probation and that I had to make modification payments of $713.00 on time for the modification to be complete. Several letters were sent to me telling me that more of my personal information was needed. I sent the information and payment that was requested each month until October 2010 the same information was requested and I therefore sent the requested information and payments each time. Then I got letter telling me that they sold the loan to IBM to be final on November 1 2010 they were still sending me request for info as late as October 28, 2010. On November 1, 2010 , I called IBM and they told me to call back in a week because they didn't have all my paper work yet. On the 3rd of November [after the loan had been transferred] I get a letter from CitiMortgage saying I was denied loan modification and another letter saying I owed $16,000.00 (plus) - due by December or I would be in default. Now I can no longer talk with CitiMortgage, I have to talk to IBM! IBM says I owe them $14,000. in back payments due by December 16, 2010. I wasn't behind when I went into this Loan Modification to begin with. Now after following all the instructions to the " T" their telling me that I must come up with $$$$$$$ or lose my house after doing just what they said make only the modification payments of $713.00 per mo. IBM now wants me to reapply through them (IBM) for thier loan modification. What should I do now? I'm afraid to ask for any more help after what I'm going through now.

Thank You

HERMAN

Same thing happened to me with Citimortgage

A similar thing happened to me except I have been dealing with Citimortgage for almost 28 months. All this was due to loss of employment by my husband. They ruined my credit, put me in default and never informed me that any of this would affect me and never sent any paperwork to me. After 18 months, I finally gave up on them and then decided to give it another try last year. after months I was finally approved for a "expanded modification" the other day, come to find out it will cost me $200 more per month. What makes that a modification? If I was having trouble paying my regular mortgage, what makes them think I can afford $200 more per month. They said if I don't accept the offer then I have to pay them all the back payments I missed in one lump sum or they will forclose. They give me no option. This seems illegal and just a way for them to get more money out of me. I don't want to lose my house so what am I to do? Oh well

I would love to get involved in a class action suit against them.

I am highly interested in the class action suit although I am hoping something can be resolved through HUD.

As of Dec 2009 i went 6to 8 week behind due to a credit crunch i sold stock ,barrow on the equity of my car loan extending it three years, made a loan against my 401K.I got all my bad credit cleared upand contacted citimortgage to explain why i was behind and after answering a slew on questions I was told that I could apply for a three month trial modifation program and have to bring my account up to date and fill out all the forms and return them with the requiried pay stub and tax returns requseted. a second request was made for more financial recordsI sent what they asked for, which i did.then I was told that my payments would be $917.98 half would go toward my mortgage and half to escrow account, and they would take over payment of my homeowners ins, plus all state, brough, and school taxes.

which they did after all billing was tranfered to them for payment.month after month i made the monthly payments on time, hearing nothing from them I though all was well, from time to time i would check the Citimortgage.com website and pull up the payment history report al appeared tobe right.I was told not to send payment anywhere but to the modification office.three monts past not a word from citimortgage, bills came from the ohio office showing the back payments growing but doing what they said iI let it go till I recieved the 911 fourclouser notices I contacted them by email and got a requsrt from Ryan Oiller (in the O'Fallen,MI Office)to call him to see if he could help and i sent him a copy of the payment history report with copies of my canceled checks, when talking to him he pulled up my account

this was the first and only time I was told that my modifation had failed!!

The same copies of the payment history report and cancelled checks to the Tucson AZ,Irving TX and theOhio officesgot nothing back ,a second 911 letter arivied I emailed Mr Oiller and was informed that his office computer automataticly sends out the notice when of pass due amount get to high. Each payment after April takes longer to cash ,then Septembers did not show cashing,

then I sent Octobers ,then I recieve a letter with a check for $3.74 stating the agreed payment was not large enough and they were returning the amount of $3.74 to me,the next week they returned my October payment ststing it was no large enough to cover the past due amount of $9,046.26,

two days later I recieve a letter and Septembers check from there local lawofficeGoldbeck,McCafferty&McKeever that they will soon start forueclouser on my account.I emailed them and sent them a copy of the payment history and cancelled checks this stalled them for now ,but I have to speak with a repasentive of Citimortgage to try to work some thing out in sted of them going over and aduiting my account to find there mistakes.

If ther a class action starting against Citimortgage somebdy let me know,

COUNT ME IN!!
