I went to Citizens Bank to do business because I had met one of their employees while out shopping. I was led to believe they had many account options to choose from and that they were there for thei clients.

After opening the account we were guaranteed that we would have bounce protection. It was one of the benefits to the account type we opened. WRONG! During a time when the postal service had held my paycheck hostage (it was lost somewhere for a week) I had notified the bank to tell them of my delemna. I had 2 checks that were going to be posted. The bank personnel I spoke with insured me that it would be taken care of because I had bounce protection.

One week later I got a notice that those 2 checks bounced. When I called the bank to inquire, they played stupid and claimed we did not have bounce protection. We would have had to apply for a credit line to cover that. I argued that being that 3 times prior they covered checks that posted prior to checks getting into the account. Never had we been told that we would have had to apply for a line of credit.

A week later we got a notice from the bank that stated that the bounce protection we had on our account was no longer available. This was interesting being that they claimed we didn't have it in the first place. $360 of bounce fees later, I will NEVER utilize the services of Citizens again. They are dishonest and do not care about the people, only that they get the business.
