My husband and I received a notice of a National Lotto Co-Operation Sweepstakes Lottery winning for $150,000. The letter came in stationary with a City Intertrade logo, in a blank envelope (no return address), with a check drawn off the Legacy Bank of Florida (Boca Raton, FL 33431) in the amount of $4989.54.

According to the instructions, we were to contact a Michael Williams at 289-888-1624 to claim the funds, along with sending a Western Union (or MoneyGram) check for $2998, allegedly to pay for the goverment taxes and fees on the winnings.

When we contacted this individual and began to ask questions to inquire as to its legitimacy, the individual (presumably, Michael Williams) became testy and refused to answer any further questions and promptly hung up.

We attempted to call again, and were unable to reach Mr. Williams. That's when we decided this was a scam, and began to research online and verify City Intertrade as a legitimate business (which we believe it is not).

We found this site and have now reported City Intertrade. Interestingly, there is another address listed for the company: 11 James St, London ON, Canada.

Please do not respond to these illegitimate inquiries.
