I went out with a group of friends on Rampage Street just north of Santa Monica Blvd and parked at a meter. I paid the meter until the time posted on the sign. When I returned I received a parking ticket that stated I was parked in a residential restricted parking area.

I noticed that there is a restricted area located north of where I was parked. I was obviously not parked in the residential area since I was at a meter. I took a picture with my camera phone but it came out poorly.

All of my friends I was with checked the signs and thought that this was very strange and was an error and I should have no problem contesting it. I contested the ticket and went through the entire procedure (online first and then a written statement) only to be denied.

I have heard other similar reports when I told others of my situation who advised that they no longer use street parking. There is no checks and balance system for Parking Services in West Hollywood - please be advised when parking within city limits.
