In 2015 Kanoa accepted payment in full $169.00 for the pre-order of Kanoa truly wireless earbuds second batch slated to ship in 6 Months timeframe. The time line continued to slip, and the company continued to promise progress was being made and the delays were to ensure a perfect product.

This was a pre-order offer, not an opt-in crowdsource backing opportunity. I continued to follow up and get a promise that the product would soon ship. I continued to wait until August 2017 when I got a notice explaining that the company didn't have enough capital to continue production.

According to Kanoa, some people received refunds, and some people received their earbuds. I received neither. There was no mention of the process for refunds for those like myself who were taken advantage of by the company and CEO, Cival van der Lubbe. I've made several written requests for my refund with no response. Kanoa has stopped monitoring their email and website accounts.

Based on feedback on the many twitter, facebook and instagram customer victim groups, this fraud is a trend for this CEO and he should be finally held accountable. Because this was a pre-order offer, and because some refunds were honored, it is an inconsistent and unfair practice not to offer the refund for all victims. Because of the time between when my credit card was charged, and the company vanished, there is no recourse other than to pursue action from Kanoa or it's CEO.
