Clair Skin Rip-off Scam or What? Ashtabula Ohio
On June 9, 2017, I went online and ordered a free trial wrinkle product from a company called Clair Skin. I was told that I would only have to pay S/H.
When I went to submit the order, it would not let me do so until I had purchased another free trial product for only the S/H price. Once I agreed to the second product, the order was submitted. In about two weeks, the products were delivered.
Just today, June 30, 2017, I happened to be balancing my checkbook, when I noticed two charges for product that I had not ordered. I then called the Company to find out what was going on.
That is when I found out that I had been signed up to receive further products and be billed on an on-going basis. The Rep was named Kim that I spoke with. I told her that I was not aware of such a stipulation being made when I ordered the free trial products on June 9th. She told me there was a letter that came with my trial products that stipulated this agreement. But, my shipment did not have a letter stating so. When I submitted my order for the free trial products on June 9th, I did not see anything stating that either.
I then told Kim that I would be reporting their shady business practices to Better Business Bureau, and then she went to trying to sell me more product at a reduced rate. I told her I wasn't interested in that, and that the only thing I was interested in was getting a refund of my monies. Then she went to finagling to get me a 50% refund of my monies and gave me a confirmation number for the refund, which happens to be my original order number for the free trial products.
Before the call ended, I stressed to Kim that I would be reporting them to Better Business Bureau, and as soon as I got off the phone, I did so.
