I have advertised a vehicle for sale. I was contacted by email with suspicious promises by this person. I looked up "favourshippers" on the internet, and was taken directly to this site to a report by a man having a similar experience as I am. I have not been ripped off, but could have been. Here is the email I received:

1st email = Hello,i saw the add of your goods for sale on the net and will like to buy it and also ask for it
present condition of the goods and it actual price and also I want you to know that I am taking
care of the shipping by myself. I am in Paris, France. if you will accept a certified cashier check,
or money order. do get back to me quick.
Thanks

I inquired where the party had seen the ad, and advised I would take payment by PayPal, or BidPay. I received this in response:

Hello,
Thanks for your prompt reply.I am so sorry for the late reply.i am well pleased that i had the honour of doing bussiness with you and that you have agreed to sell me your goods ,i thank you for your understanding and
acceptance to do bussiness with me.thanks.

Alright thanks so much and I am very greatful with you and also I can see that you are trustworthy and honesty person I am dealing with and may almight
God will give you power and strenght to finish this business successfuly. Well, am okay with the price of your goods and also l want to tell you

that i now feel free in the purchase which i promise to fasten things up. Let me have your full contact address and phone number where the cheque would be mailed to.Also the exact name to be addressed on it.The goods
would be pick up by my shipping company immediately there is a confirmation of payment, they would also attest to every necessary document on my behalf. .Ive immediately contacted my patner over there thats going to make the payment to you on my behalf. However there are few things i want to explain to you in this mail, which actually made the mail important and i would want you to handle everything with all honesty and sincerity as we have started. My client
is going to make a payment of $20.000 to you, which is over the amount for your goods. But ive already told him the money covers for the goods and the shipping arrangement. Therefore he has promised to raise the
check and get it across to you ASAP. Why im explaining this to you now is the need to let to you know after colllecting the payment and get it cashed that you will need to send the balance of the money to my
shipper after you must have deducted the money for your goods out of it after you do that you can contact him also through is email
:favourshippers@mail.com .You will send the remaining balance to my shipper thru Western union Money Transfer so as to facilitate easy pick-up of the goods at your location.Pls let me know if i can entrust you
with my balance and you can act as i have rightly said,if truely you do soo i will ready
compeciate you with $300 .I would like to hear from you and pls l want you to remove the advert from
the intenet.thanks

Please beware when you are advertising cars for sale!

Take the check. Tell the fraud you cashed it and closed the bank account. Tell them thanks for the handout, sucker!

There's nothing better than cheating a crook.

Get him to make his fake check and send it to you. He'll waste his time and printer to make it, and his postage to send it.

Then, tell him that you cashed it and closed the account. Tell him that you gave his name and address to the bank.

In reality, you throw the worthless check in the trash.

The fraud will think that you cashed his fake check and kept all the money from it.

He did all the work. You get all the profit from it.

Be sure to point that out to the idiot.

After a few dozen times of making checks and sending them only to get nothing back, the fraud will wise up and move on.

That's how you stop this. Waste their time and their money. Then, insult them and tell them how stupid they were to fall for it.
